Approaching 40 and with enemies at every corner, Misbah has turned out to be a survivor!

The ghost of Mohali may haunt him (or his detractors) but the Champions Trophy is his last chance to redeem himself in the ODI arena - Should he lift the cup for Pakistan, a lot of his perceived sins will be forgotten and he could well ride off in the sunset, basking in the glory of being a cup winner.

But should he come back without much to talk about, he will incur the wrath of many in the nation - including many of his supporters.

By sometime tomorrow, Misbah-ul-Haq will be handed a team which by all accounts is being picked based on his and DWs preferences. The team will contain some potential match winners and it will be up to the experience of Misbah to harness this talent and deliver the trophy to the nation.

Tough task you would say but if there is one thing we do know about Misbah is that behind that serene demeanour lurks a survivor.
