Sarfraz Ahmed

A stylish right handed batsman and very elegant and neat wicketkeeper who is only 21 years of age. Sarfraz had been struggling to get into the international side due to Kamran Akmal's success, and other keepers such as Zulqarnain Haider, Humayun Farhat, and Mohammad Salman. However recently, he has moved up as Pakistan's number one back up, as Kamran Akmal's keeping has also been slipping. His name has been around for a while and he captained the U-19 team, and led them to a world cup victory. Sarfraz first appeared on the international scene when he was called up in the middle of the South Africa ODI series, and played the fifth ODI. He didn't get to bat, but was very promising behind the stumps.
Sarfraz's most recent international performance in his 8th one day international was against Bangladesh where he displayed some lovely wicketkeeping technique. His batting though needs some work and if he is to shift Kamran as number one choice behind the stumps then he needs to really improve his form with the bat. In a recent A tour to Australia Sarfraz displayed that his batting had improved and may yet push Kamran for that keeping spot.
He comes accross as a very competent cricketer with a level head and definitely one to watch out for in future.
