Combined Aussie Pak side

If we had a fully fit and in form YK and Moyo, then North would have to go for one of these. Even Hussey would have to make way for the Moyo of 3 years ago....not sure of the current version of Moyo.

And please - do not make me laugh and suggest Umar Akmal would make the side. For once , I have posted something positive. But if anyone suggests Umar Akmal is a test class player...........what can i say.

Then we have been watching different test matches for the last year whilst Akmals average has plummetted from 64 to 43 and dropping day by day.

And you obviously didn't watch his heroics at Lords (crap footwork in 1st innings, crap shot selection in 2nd).

Mate.....Umar Akmal is pants. The quicker you understand that, the less expectation you'll have of him.

Butt wouldn't make it over Watson really. Perhaps if you replace Pointing with Watson (Pointing's past it in my opinion) then you could include butt. Watson is a handy bowler (he's a very good part timer really, probably the best in the game at the moment, not including people like Kallis as part timers as they're more all rounders who bowl a lot of overs). He's had a string of success ever since he became opener with success against England, New Zealand, West Indies and of course Pakistan. It' not only pakistan that he does well against (in fact it looks like Pakistan are finally figuring out how to get him out judging by his last few innings).

Umar Akmal instead of North. Umar Akmal is more talented, and more potential to develop into a good batsman. As you say U.Akmal's averaging is plummeting, well so is North's. North also bats lower down, I doubt he would survive higher up the order.

Why would you include Kamran as a wicket keeper lol. Haddin is a better batsman and slightly better wicket keeper (well in tests anyway) than Kamran. And Paine from what I've seen, is a better wicket keeper than all of them (looked ok with the bat, nothing special though).

Buddy Umar akmal's average isn't gonna climb if all the other batsmen around him are failing and averaging in the 30s. He is more talented than north and has way more potential. You just self destructed this thread by making that statement

Watson for Ponting is interesting. Especially seeing as he got 2 of the 3 wickets to fall last night. Dunno.

Haddin is far better then Kamran.

I am still adamant that Watson is a manufactured opener and no great shakes. Butt over Watson is not too big a deal.

Dont know why Watson would bat at 6 he is much better opening against the fast bowlers. Katich would be more suited to playing at 6 because he is better against the spinners.
