Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is working on a proposal along with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to organize an Exhibition Cricket Match for the Benefit of the millions of Pakistanis affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan. The match will take place during the current Pakistan Team tour of England and subject to ECB approval will be played between a Pakistan XI and an International XI comprised of players from various countries. Proceeds of the match will go towards the rehabilitation of families displaced by the worst floods in the country's history.

If its anything other then a t20 match, its not worth it, pakistan will get thrashed into pieces

it will be embarassing for a pakkistan charity match

it's for flood relief, not for a trophy...if everything about Pak cricket embarrasses you so much, then who do you waste your time over it?

So now our team will take a bashing for our flood victims.

I say it's a much nobler cause than taking a bashing anyway.

Naturally i'd prefer it if a Test match would take place. However to raise as much money as possible it just has to be a T20 match.

Cause i feel like it !! I got loads of time to waste...

Whatever its for... it should be competitive not like a bunch of weak sissy losers like they been playing recently barring the heroics of a few individuals of course.. :ajmal

I'd leave PCB out of the equation & let ECB handle everything. That way there is actually a chance of it happening.

A T20 is fine. Never heard of a Test Match fund raiser - probably physically impossibl eto fit it into the calendar

There's no room to fit a test match in the current calendar, and it will be a big flop anyways.

Good idea. I went to a charity game after the earthquake which was held at the Oval. It was Pakistan v World XI and although it rained and we only got 10 overs per side, it was a great success.

I remember the World XI opened the batting with Sachin and Lara who faced an old Waqar and he got hit to all parts of the ground. When Pakistan batted, Afridi went wild and smashed a few sixes and with 1 required off a couple of balls, Inzy hit over the top and walked the last run.

It was great to see the International players supporting this cause and the gentlemen he is, Sachin came out to sign autographs.

Depending on the location, I will support this game as well.

Thats excellent news, the revenue generated from this game would go a long way in helping those brothers and sisters in need at this time.

I asked the PCB about dates, venues etc but as yet nothing has been finalised.

Of course as and when I hear anything I will let everyone know.

It's most likely that it'll be a T20 game. Besides, if you bundle together 11 'world' players, they are not going to play particularly well. It'll be like a warm up match at the end of the tour. Good fun though surely. Some Afridi and Akmal sixes, Gul and Ajmal's T20 magic. Despite everything, AT LEAST we are naturals at T20's.

Great idea! I think we should prepare the best international T20 XI players list and ask ECB/PCB to invite these players.

I will go if its in London. At the end of the day it doesn't matter about the result of the game as the aim is to help the people back home.
I went to a Pakistan vs England charity match 4 years at the Oval (it was only a 10-10 because of rain) for the earthquake disaster that happened a year earlier. Pakistan scrapped a victory in the end, but main satisfaction was that my money was going to a good cause.

I did not know ECB was to disburse the revenue themselves to the ones in need...that would be the only way to guarantee what you are hoping for...

Definitely the right decision.

Lets hope this match is organised soon and all the proceeds reach those most in need.
