Not much to choose from between Hameed and Farhat. Hameed got out both times to poor shots. Hameed wins partly due to his ability in catching a cricket ball.

Still not sure about Wahab, bowled well in the first inns but I am still trying to figure out how those balls took the wickets. Gul would be my choice if fit.

Wahab was a revelation-he got the wickets with pace, aggression, hitting the deck hard, and being able to back up verbal challenges with the batsmen -all attributes Gul lacks.
The bowl that took Strauss wicket was a beauty-pace, bounce n lift of a good length...did you really miss that?
He was clearly the quickest bowler in both sides

I think there should be some competition between Wahab, Gul, Irfan for the third seamer

Why can't we select the team with the players given. Pir Saheb as of now is not part of the team. Beside Pir saheb is liked only by his mureed, and pakistani players are not his mureed. Therefore pir saheb will cause disunity to the team. Chances for our win will slide to zero. I have seen us snatching defeat from jaws of victory when pir saheb was part of the team. I would select the same team.

Yes drop Wahab Riaz and play raza hasan. The suprise factor is always importnat. Sounds ridiculous to drop Wahab after his performance but if there is place for only two bowlers he has to miss out. Lords will be slower so maybe 2 spinners will make a difference.

Yawar says many things. And I trust him as far as I could throw Darrell Hair.

We don't need him......our bowling is good enough. With a lot of cricket coming up in the next 6 months-1 year, having all our bowlers fit will be instrumental to our performance.

A torn hamstring does not take 10 days to heal.

So let him recover properly, give him a couple of ODIs to get back into the rhythm and take him to the UAE for the SA series where, in the absence of Asif, he will be even more crucial to our chances.

Thats right, 5 batsman including Kamran Akmal. Ideally I'd want Arafat at 7 but even in his
absence i'd still pick an out and out bowler.

We need to win this game to ensure a drawn series and despite all the rehotirc from Flower and Strauss about wiining the series 3-1, if the wicket looks good as expected then I think England wont be forcing the issue. So the extra bowler in my opinion is crucial.

Moroever, we have not had one game where atleast 2 of the top order have failed so I'd replace one with an out and out bowler!!!

Agreed. But I think Butt/Azhar should open. Azhar has the technique/skill/temperament to be a good opener. Hameed and Farhat are walking wickets in the openers slot.
