Well for one, it doesn't have the last two world champions, now does it?

No credibility, and the cheek to call it a 'champions' league.

Secondly, why is an international competition run by one domestic board? Cheapens it. Can't trust a league where more spots are given to the indians, just because they decided to copy the football version first.

Austraia should have the most team, being the champions.

I just checked that WI have one team! And they were runner ups last year... T&T not even in the competition.

I dont believe champions/runnerup should have a confirmed place for next tournament, even FIFA has chucked this rule from the world cup and now the world champion too has to qualify for next event.

And England are World T20 champions at the moment, not Australia. Although their T20 champions are missing too, 4 IPL teams :O

You are missing the point. I didn't say the champions persay. I meant the country should have the most spots in the league.

Thats how it works in champions league. So Australia should have 3 teams, West Indies should have 3 teams. India should have 1 for the most dissmal performance last year.

Makes sense eh?

It should work in order? Top 2 countries? The final is just a lottery, getting there deserve equal credit.

I wouldnt buy that argument either. The organizers would like this to be a fixed event and hence should have fixed no. of representatives from all partners. Yes good Int'l teams should have the right to have more teams in coming years but then, Aussies and WI havnt been the best T20 teams. Infact these two are at the bottom of the league

Answer 1- The tournament includes clubs and not national teams. So no point there.
It is to find out the best T20 club out of the champions in their respective countries. Hence 'Champions' league !

Answer 2- The whole damn ICC is run by one board you're referring to:inti Nothing different in Champions league. India pretty much runs the game today

Why should Australia have most teams? This is a global event for God's sake and not KFC BIG BASH. No point there again

Its how the football version works and its a pretty fair assesment. How else do you improve the quality of this baqwas tournament.

First of all its a good event.
Secondly , it will take a couple of seasons to see where the teams of all the domestic competitions stand. This is T20, being in final of first CLT20 doesnt really make it sure that Australian and West Indian teams are better.
India was the best team in 2007 T20 wc but we did horrible next time around except beating you guys in warm-ups :D So you never know

The owner is a billionaire already and don't think he would want to de-evaluate the brand of his franchise for a few hundred thousand dollars. For these men, the value of the franchise is measured in success which comes with winning. Also, no bookie is influential enough even to approach them let alone fix the match with them.

I dont know why some people have problems with the participation rules of CL

1.The league was set up by BCCI CA and SA, the top 2 teams from these 3 countries domestic leagues play in the tournament(IPL has 3 teams)

2.Rest all teams are invitees,i.e the top T20 team from eac country is invited. So whoever is champion or runners up is invited.T and T didnt qualify this year neither did NSW.

3.Domestic competetion so ICC has no role.

4.England was invited bit couldnt come because of their present series vs PAkistan

1) For a start the tournament is a farce because no teams from Pakistan are invited. Say whatever you want the reason they are not invited is BCCI playing politics with sport which stinks.

2) It is rigged because IPL gets 3 teams for no apparent reason - and they certainly don't deserve to be there on merit. Without the ring ins the IPL teams would struggle to beat a grade side in South Africa or Australia.

3) Your post ignores all of this and pretends like it is a legitimate championship. It isn't.

Just because pakistan teams are not participating, this tournament is a farce?? what about the guys who play at domestic level and never get any int exposure? what is it to them?? your views are one dimensional and partial!
even though i would have luved to see a pakistani team play but everything in life is not fair! and it doesnt have to be! (human nature)
IPL has three teams because BCCI is the main sponsor and they pay half of the prize money so why shouldnt they have three teams??? money talks aye? is there something new in it?

3) Your post ignores all of this and pretends like it is a legitimate championship. It isn't.

1)Your calling it a farce doesnt make it one.BCCI is arranging most of the sponsorship for this tournament.CA and CSA are also there with them.England and Australia didnt tour Zimbabwe, due to political reasons.India and Pakistan are not friendly countries who were virtually on war 18-20 months ago.So yes BCCI has the right not to let a country or any organisation from that country to profit from a tournament in which they have invested the majority.

2)Ask CSA and CA why 3 IPL teams are allowed?Again you and your hate for India and BCCI is well known so your view is hardly credible.

3)7 of the 10 test playing nations are playing.England was invited but couldnt join because of the ODI series with Pakistan.Last year even England played,so with majority of test playing nations playing this is the tournament,i dont know which other tournament has more domestic teams from more test nations.Tell me which one?
