This is the perfect position for him. Not whereuhey bring him in in the last 5 overs to hit 6's. He needs time to build an innings and he has got it in this position. Hope they stick with him in this position for the future

I agree. I also think Fawad Alam can hit. I think he's lost a bit of confidence because everyone keeps saying that he can't. He hit dilhara fernando pretty well in Canada.

as much as i like Fawad Alam as a utility player....he needs to do more to stay in the odi team.....hes strike rate is too slow for ODI's, and we already have Hafeez who eats up a lot of deliveries.

Fawad kept his wicket today and scored a few runs. Yes it could have been more and yes he should have accelerated. The important thing is that he didn't throw his wicket away. With wickets in hand the likes of Afridi and Razzler have a license to hit out. But this is a risky strategy as there is no guarantee that Razzaq and Afridi will get the runs needed to push Pakistan to a competitive total.

The main problem today was that Fawad and Hafeez are both slow scorers. Fawad because he can't find boundaries regularly and Hafeez because he doesn't manipulate the field well and relies on boundaries. Perhpas there should be a degree of flexibility in the batting to ensure two slow scorers are not at the crease. That being said, Hafeez and Fawad were both set after using up a lot of deliveries and should have went on to produce the goods.
