Since there was a thread about the Best subcontinent Test series, I want to know what's the best ODI series posters have watched (worldwide)
My pick goes to these three
2003-04 PAK 2-3 IND: A really fiercely contested series where India eventually took the honours. Pakistan made a brave attempt in the first match against a mammoth target, levelled the series in another high-scoring humdinger, went one-up in a more balanced third encounter. India then launched a dazzling run-chase in a high-octane fourth match and conclusively won the fifth--and that, too, featured a fine late fightback. Good, aggressive cricket
2005-06 RSA 3-2 AUS: Everybody remembers that 872-run match to round off a home win, but what's often forgotten is that every one of the four previous matches was a cracker. South Africa posted two fairly clinical wins--one of them featuring a Makhaya Ntini blitz of 6 for 22--before Australia fought back to level the series, the fourth match featuring a thrilling one-wicket win as South Africa fought back hard.
2006-07 NZ 2-2 SL: A moral victory for the visiting Lankans months before finishing world cup runners-up. Sri Lanka made a mkockery of a tough first-match target, but New Zealand's lower order rallied for a last-ball win on the last day of the 2006 calendar year. The NZ seamers then skittled out SL in the third match but SL roared back with a 189-run thrashing in the fourth, while the fifth was washed out.
2010 ENG 3-2 PAK: Again one of the best series I've seen, with the off-field controversies merely adding fuel to some crackling cricket. England racked up a huge first-match score and chased down another tall total in the second; Pakistan then tenaciously fought back in the London double-header to square the series, only to slump in the decider.

The lesson here is, 5-match series are the best.

Australia vs Pakistan in 2002 when Pakistan won 2-1. Actually 3-match series would also be nice.:ajmal

Not sure if you're counting world tournaments but, even though the final was a let down, I always liked the 99 WC. Good atmosphere and a lot of quality games. The wickets were pretty competative and good batsmen/bowlers rose to the top. A lot of star players back then as well. I think it was the time were cricket perfectly belended the two elements of raw talent and innovations/planning.

Pakistan Vs West Indies (in WI) 1993: 2-2
I remember this ODI series vividly. West Indies had a great team and they had already thrashed Pakistan on 4 occasions in a triangular series in SA (remember 43 all out, Capetown) held prior to this series. Pakistan, ofcourse were the world champions.
West Indies won the first 2 matches easily (Anyone remember Aamir Nazir's debut !! The Hatrick that was denied). Pakistan levelled by winning the next two matches (Asif Mujtaba and Inzamam were involved in a great run chase). Final match was very very close with 12 runs required off the final over bowled by Wasim. With 3 off 1 ball, Bishop played it down to long on where Ramiz misfielded and Batsmen ran 2. I think WI were initially declared winners because of net RR or no of wickets. The match result was later changed to a tie because crowd invaded the field before the play was finished.
This series was my favourite because Wasim and Waqar were at their peak (actually Waqar was bowling way better than Wasim). Basit Ali was emerging as a good bat and ofcourse Brian Lara was in imperious touch.

forgot abt the 2005 series...my bad, that was a wonderful fight too
and the 1993 one...I was only 1.5 years old then but recently saw the highlights of that series and it looked a cracker!
Yep the 1999 wc was in my opinion the best world cup we've had (with '87 a close second)

I thought it was the best as well until i found out it was fixed, atleast the last 2 games and the overall series decider :( Never believed it until a few weeks back when the fixing really came to light

That was a good series...but unfortunately I only saw the second half, was travelling the first half. England's win was pretty convincing but India put up a strong fight after having been 1-3 down. There was also England's 2001-02 series in India which was squared 3-3--again I didn't see this one but I later read up on it
The West Indies 2-1 win that same summer was pretty enjoyable too...they finally came back to play the dashing brand of cricket they used to be associated with.
I also enjoyed Sri Lanka's 5-0 whitewash in 2006 though it wasn't a fiercely contested series by any means

England aint over-rated
With Eoin Morgan in there side now they are a very good side. in England but then again, With Aamer,Asif and Salman Butt i would of expected Pakistan to win the recent series.

all those three series were quality. though for me the Sri Lanka series was painful, Jayasuriya chasing 320 after Tresco's hundred (with Harmy getting mullered) was awe-inspiring if you ask me.
The ENG 4-3 IND series has been forgotten because English people are less bothered about ODIs, and because a lot of Indian fans don't like to acknowledge its existence (certainly seems the case on PakPassion).

Got overshadowed by the hysteria surrounding our t20 WC win 2-3 weeks after the ODI series ended.

This was quite a series! We were leading 3-1, lost the last 2 matches by 2 runs and 4 runs!! And funnily enough, in the 6th ODI, we were cruising at 200-odd with 6-7 wickets left chasing 250, Vaughan took a couple of quick wickets and we lost the plot from there on!!
