As always, produces a great spectacle.
Sadly I missed the WHOLE tourney except for the final.
would love to hear how it went, and who were the top performers, and the ones who failed to deliver.

Superb tournament.
Excellent crowds as well.
Need to improve umpiring/fielding standards and be harder/place bans on chuckers.

Stand out mentions (for me) go to...
Shahzaib - He held all the cards for Karachi really. Chasing those 200+ targets rested heavily on him. If he survived another 5 overs today the match really would have been close
Wahab - Hate his personality and off field antics all you want, he was nothing short of phenomenal as a bowler. Lahore's bowling really rested on him
Sami - Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. His supporters can say he was bowling on deathbeds but so were others. He was Karachi's weak link.
Younis - Proved his fishing lay off hasn't diminished his energy for cricket, was passionate and a vocal enthusiastic captain (T20 may not be his cup of tea, but get him in the test squad FFS)
Hammad - Impressive young gun, smart bowler and a capable batsman. Definitely one for the future

I was impressed with (mostly bowlers because of dead wickets);
- Wahab Riaz, bowled amazingly in pretty much every game.
- Raza Hasan, got some big turn in the SS game and really helped Rams turn the match around.
- Shoaib Akhtar, carried his team to the SF on his own back, troubled Yousuf and every other batsmen he bowled to.
I was also quite impressed by Hammad but he's still too raw for int. cricket. Afridi and Shahzaib also did well with the bat.

The tournament was simply Zabardast!!:14: :14:
Kudos to the crowd for creating such an electrifying atmosphere!!:14:
Finally, we got a new champion!:D It was really good to see Rawalpindi Rams and Islamabad Leopards rising up and knocking out 2 strong teams to qualify for the semis. Similarly, it was good to see Hyderabad Hawks and Abottabad Falcons finally coming up with competitve performances.
Outstanding performers:
Shahzaib Hasan - I don't need to say much. 3 MOM awards in 3 matches say it all! Played the most important role in every match that KD played.
Shahid Afridi - Thankfully, he stayed as far as possible from his beastly 0 (1). He was a nightmare for some bowlers. Played an important role in 3 of the four matches! His bowling wasn't effective though.
Wahab Riaz - Outstanding bowling by him throughout the tournament. He choked the oppositions' batsmen.
Special Mentions:
Sarfaraz Ahmed- He might not have grabbed many catches but his wicket keeping has been phenomenal throughout the tournament. Easily the best wicketkeeper in the country closely followed by Adnan Akmal.
Younus Khan- simply because it felt really good to see him in action after such a long time. He still has it in him! :D
Shoaib Akhter
Ahmed Shehzad
Abdur Razzaq
Adnan Akmal
Raza Hasan
Adnan Malik
Sohail khan
Hammad Azam
From the minnows:
Junaid Khan
Faisal Ather
Sharjeel Khan
Yasir Shah
Azeem Ghumman
EXTRA-SPECIAL MENTION:
Mohammad Sami :sami

Shahzaib and wahab have been excellent, the two stand out performers in this tournament, other than that there are 3 talented pakistanis who deserve their spot in their respective formats. Hammad Azam definately needs to start off in our t20 squad and odi squad, junaid khan is definately ahead of Sami, maybe not the same quality as aamer but the angle could work, also he was very impressive with his control. Also Raza Hasan should be in the squad, i was really impressed by his control too and the turn he got off his off-spinner, he also seems to have a good cricketing brain.

The 2010 Faysal Bank T20 competition was played between the 10th and 16th October at the Gaddafi Stadium and coincidentally with Lahore Lions emerging winners after beating Karachi Dolphins by 37 runs in the final.
This was a relief for the tournament and public in a sense as the invincible Sialkot Stallions finally lost their title and dominance after 5 consecutive triumphs. The team won 25 successive matches before losing to Rawalpindi Rams in the group stages of the 7th edition by 13 runs thanks to a brilliant all-round performance from Hammad Azam who scored 37 and bagged 4 crucial scalps at significant stages.

The 2 standouts were Shahzaib and Wahab. Performance wise no one comes close to these 2.
Then there was the next bracket of top performers. These would include Razzaq and Afridi at the head followed by Ahmad Shahzad, Nasir Jamshed, Shoaib Akhtar, Hammad Azam, Raza Hasan, Adnan Akmal (keeping wise), Junaid Khan etc

Great Tournament and the crowd was wonderful.
But the fielding really needs to improve tho it was absolutely ridiculous how many catches were dropped. Like most people are all praise for shahzaib and they should praise him he is a monster but in both his innings of 101* and 71* he should have been out caught much earlier. Same thing today Nasir jamshed and Abdul Razzaq both had lives. Now fans are using these performances as an argument for these players to play international cricket, well South Africa wont drop these catches.
IMO the domestic sides should be encouraged pick their best 11 fielders regardless of how good a batsman/bowler they are because really that is what is needed in the national side.

Very good tournament. Ahmed shahzad and sharjeel are very good batsman.should be given chance at higher level.some decent bowlers were also identified. Faisal ather is very good batsman and should have been given more chances. Realy feel for him.Sami was worst bowler of tournament in term of average, economy, strike rate and wickets. He doesnt deserve to be our front line bowler against SA. lahore lions are worthy winner. I am KD supporter but if we have to send a team to represent pak at champion league than its the best team. It has some very good batsman, good bowling and decent fielding. KD bowlers should have been hit every where in champions league. The old perception that karachi produces good batsman and lahore/punjab produces good bowler proved right.

It was certainly a wonderful day for all Lahori fans. Team absolutely destroyed Karachi.
However, in the end every single Pakistani should be proud of what we witnessed. Not just on the cricket field [minus the misfields/umpiring] the fans were top notch and really made the entire tournament pleasing/exciting to watch.
Families came out and supported the sport. This wasn't just an attempt to cheer for one team, it was attempt to celebrate the great history of Pakistani cricket. The good ol' jazba of Pakistani fans was out in full force as they cheered for players from all teams. I thought that was the trademark of this Faysal Bank T20 Cup.
A wonderful tournament made even better through the performances of our Lion Pride. Not sure the fishes were happy about that.
Hopefully, we can run through everyone in next year's extravaganza, as well.
Although, I think it would be better if someone told Yahya Husseini to not thank everyone on the planet during his post-game presentation ceremony speech. I was afraid he would start thanking his parents at one point in the speech.

He was, as is often the case with him, pathetic. Shameless name dropping for 'Geo Super' throughout the ceremony - diabolical. And then having the gall to say their coverage was good!
Yep, Yahya was pathetic yesterday.
The same can be said for Geo Super's coverage and their production team.
Worse than useless.
The only saving grace was MIB and quite a few of his fellow commentators (e.g. Mushy, Tariq Saeed, Abdul Qadir).

One thing which distracted and annoyed me the most was that to whomever they talk there is always one question in which 'Geo Super' is being mentioned for its work. It is good for them as they are getting free advertisement but it gets annoying when you ask every person that sae question.
I wouldn't be surprised if they asked the same question to Babul (hope I am correct with his name (the toilet cleaner guy at Qadaffi Stadium in MIG Bhai's TSN)).."How did you find Geo Super's coverage throughout your toilet cleaning process?"

Aizaz Cheema deserves a call-up,better version of Tanvir Ahmed.Well done to Wahab Riaz, after all thats gone on,he still manages to perform on the Lahore pancake tracks.
Shahzaib Hasan was electrifying in domestic T20 once again. The atmosphere was breathtaking, absolutely amazing, reminded you of the old football terraces, place was jam-packed.

one thing that I noticed is quite unique to our brand of T20, and our cricket in general, is the attacking nature of our bowlers in the powerplay overs.
maybe it's an ego thing, but whoever be the bowler or batsmen, the only option is all-out attack...even if the bowler has already been pulled for 2 sixes, he will still bounce the batsman! LOL!

They just had 2 matches to showcase their talent.
Azeem scored 0(1) against Karachi Dolphins and he must be ruing his luck because he gave his wicket to Sami!!! But his innings of 59 runs off 29 balls was really good even though he was struggling with his fitness. He played some excellent shots during that innings.
Sharjeel also looks to be a talented batsman..played nice little cameos in both the matches. Seems to be a powerful player.

This tournament really has breathed life into Pakistani cricket, both for the domestic fans and all us guys who do not live in Pak.
We have all been suffocated by the likes of Butt and the allegations amongst other things but the beauty of cricket is once the first ball bowled, all issues are left at the door.
Quality cricket played too - the standards were high with good commitment by all teams. Shows despite the issues, there are loads of players knocking around Pak cricket, young and older to make us never give up hope. The Dolphins and Lions really were top notch.
And that too a tournament without the best of the best, Mohammad Aamer. Mr Hammad, take a bow.
