I was just watching BKBH right now and they mentioned that after the Australia tour, Intakhab Alam turned in a written report to the PCB committee in which he said Misbah-ul-Haq was a negative influence in the dressing room.
I am hearing this for the first time. Anyone knows the details? I am guessing he was talking about his attitude against coach or captain?
Also, if true, this forces us to ask the question: What can we expect from this tour where now Misbah is the captain and the guy who called him a negative influence in his report is the manager? :inti

No, he meant negative influence as in a person inept of any batting talent, overdone by his ageing body, and not up to international cricket's standards anymore.
But as we do things in Pakistan, we duly ignore the advice given in reports and take the guy out of nowhere to make him captain of our test side.

after the tour of Australia, Intikhab apparently had said that Yousuf, Younis, Malik and Misbah need to be axed from the side.

Inti knew he was gone, so he thought might as well ruin Pakistan cricket with me so that they have to call me back.
What a shrewd plan! :inti

Well two of them are in the team now. What kind of a sick twisted sense of humor does PCB have? First of all, what Inti said in the report shouldn't have been leaked, but now that it has, appointing him manager of a team that has half the players he had criticized is an open invitation to more dressing room controversies at a time we really dont need any!

Where've you been, yaar? Didn't you read all the posts reacting to Misbah's appointment? Read these 2 Osman Samiuddin articles from May after the inquiry committee's video was leaked.

This has been the way since Inzamam-ul-Haq left: so much factionalism, so many groups with different interests that nobody even remembers who is on whose side anymore. Shoaib Malik is a central figure.
He has been ably supported by men such as Salman Butt, Misbah-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal and a handful of others, including even managers such as Yawar Saeed. What their aim has ever been is not certain, other than reinstating Malik as captain.

Intikhab is also critical of the players' behavior and manner away from the field, questioning their education levels and upbringing, their mental aptitude and ultimately concluding that they "seem to be mentally retarded." He suggests, as remedial measures, that Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, Yousuf and Younis be removed from the team, though he says of Younis that "he is not a troublemaker but he has other issues."

well only PCB could have picked up this man to manage the team who has already called most of the players as retarted .... but the thing is that he isn't even bothered what effect he will have on team .. he is just on tour to dubai ..... as I see any person with self respect wouldn't choose to manage those men whom once he called retarted ...... so good luck mr.manager another butt thumbed desicion ......

Aaqib Javed called Kami's missed runout at Sydney suspicious, and he was retained as coach, so there you go.
Just a bunch of contradictions.

I dont know. My mind automatically gets turned off of anything to do with Misbah. I find him terribly boring to follow. I yawned while typing about him just now.
But thanks for these quotes. They just prove what we all already know. That this trip is not going to be free of controversies and infighting either. Get ready for another round of inquiries and set of bans to be handed out.

Yes actually.
Is there any of the present set up in terms of player or coach or management that isnt tarnished in some way?...probably not so no one can really avoid the potential of infighting with the current set up
Inti, Misbar take your pick they are just two of the possible 20 that may self destruct at any time.
MJ If you wish to avoid the cycle of infighting you need to call for a brand new team and mtg set up

Inti Alam proved he himself was a negative influence on the team, and he's back!

We have changed so many captains in a year that we almost ran out of the options so had to put in Misbah. I m guessing Gul might be the next Captain after misbah fails to impress Butt.
