View Full Version : Perspective Check - how could the 4th ODI have been fixed?

The 4th ODI was one of the rare occasions that most players contributed.
How that game could have been fixed is beyond me.
Anybody who was watching could tell the raw emotion behind those winning runs and the moments leading up to it.
Shahid's roars (literal) from the dressing room were not manufactured for the cameras.
It was a damn good game, and we won it fair and square.

Plus, Zoni stated that all the players were quite happy in the dressing room afterwards.

He said that if he told PCB about this, it would've made the matters worse and his family back home would've been in more trouble. That's hinting that members of PCB discouraging players.

It indeed doesn't add up. Everyone was legitimately trying, you could see it and the scorecard shows it. the only people not to contribute during the batting were Fawad and Farhat.
We might be giving his english too much credit, he could've been talking about the 5th and final ODI.

Others performing well hardly means much . I mean they could have asked them to perform well enough to make it seem like Pakistan will win so more people will bet on Pakistan . And if Zoni did not hit the winning runs , Those people would haev lost their money and people who bet on SA would have made money .
But i was watching this clip when he hit winning runs and i agree about the body language . Riaz running to the pitch , Afridi hugging Razzaq with huge smiles on their faces so i just do not know about that

One more thing I don't understand is why would bookies want Pak to lose. Surely SA were the favourites so people would be betting on them and not Pak anyways

It was not fixed. Period. All the cameras capturing every moment, thousands of people in the stadium, the players, millions watching on TV, are not idiots.
When a match is fixed, doubts come to mind themselves. A lot of Pakistan matches have been such that doubts did come to mind. This was definitely not one of them.

Pak lost 2 games so everybody expected them to win this one and there Mafia comes and tells players do this or this will happen.
so everybody is betting on Pakistan to win but in last moment Pakistan loses the match so the mafia gets all the money :)
but Haidar is brave enough to win the game and mafia is losing all the money :)
