Big Daddy, cricket is more reliant on stats than NFL. in cicket so may things are determine by stats, Run rate, net run rate, strike rate, average, economy rate, etc. in NFL not as many relaince, maybe just % completion, pass efiecency, are useful stats.

well big daddy that is not stats concerning the game it is stats concerning rankings. that we do we know so well how ICC CRICKET ratings are decided?
i think the original poster meant use of stats in actual game. but even if take ur point then ur right bcs poll is 1 big mess.

I think baseball and NFL has more stats...but they are absolutely USELESS stats in my view.
You will find that cricket stats are a great measure/tool/indicator...whereas the stuff that they seem to measure in baseball is totally irrelevant.
I mean in baseball, dont they have a stat for the no. of times a pitcher spits?

Baseball managers and NFL coaches and co-ordinators will use stats to decide on substitutions and team strategy more often than it happens in cricket.
