sad to see how some of these fans act when they don't have it their way...I actually like Malik and he has always scored plenty of runs...I love Afridi as well but I would support the Pakistan team regardless if my fav players played or not...afridi has done very good lately but he has failed too recently...plus bob really likes him...so I would think they wouldn't do him wrong for no reason

Bailan

yes, it was bowden and it was a questionable decesion, because the ball was pitched way outside off angling in, and at the same time was going go over the stumps.

Bowden 1 - Malik 0

Raz
12th November 2005, 05:39
Pak need to score 1000 runs on the first day and another 500 by lunch tomorrow - will not be satisfied with anything less.

Sorry thats not going to be enough in my opinion. :9:

I say Malik did a good job. He along with Butt has given a solid platform for the rest to build on. They put on 80 odd. Im sure before the game anyone would have taken that considering the problems we have had with the opening slots.

Good start by Pakistan. 103 for 1 at lunch....looking good and I most certainly would have taken that at the start of play.

Malik- looked reasonably solid. Gritted out some runs and was, perhaps, a touch unlucky to be given out.

Butt- Concentration. He is doing well. Keep it up bhai.

Younis- I loved the way he smashed that four straight after Botham was blabbering on about him being a slow starter and on a duck.

We now need to consolidate this position. Keep up the good work. The job is nowhere near complete. The pitch looks pretty dead so we are going to have to get a big score here if we want to win this match.

Crowd seems to be slowly and gradually building up...particularly in shady areas. Hopefully by mid afternoon we will have a good crowd in.

Butt needs to continue to concentrate. He has to grind out a big score here. He must not get frustrated with Giles and try to contiune to pick him off.

Younis needs to quietly build and play his normal game. I hate to make predictions or claims but 250 odd for 2 or 3 wickets by the end of today would be a great day 1 for us.

never say never - the guy has had so much stick over the years its unbelievable! i have defended the guy from the bbc message board (about 2 years ago now) and he had loads of critics then, slowly but surely he has turned a lot of them around especially with his form of late!
there are a few who still dont give him full credit BUT i guess ppl struggle to admit they are wrong - i would love nothing more than to see YK smash england silly! GO YK GO :27: :27:

Seriously though i am not too concerned by what has happened. The main aim now is the play on the youngsters patience. Probe away, probe, probe, probe and try him to force the runs with a rash shot. It's the way you sucker the youngsters and big hitters. Michael Clarke is our prime example.

Mmm.. not panicing yyet.

Even if Pakistan post 400+ they've still got one fewer bowler than England and is Malik really going to get away with bowling that many overs? Still I think England will miss Jonah from around the 50 over mark..
I think Pak are gonna have Kaneria from one end, and the seamers from the other in rotation. Malik will probably bowl 10-15 overs max per innings.
