To be honest the English bowlers bowled brilliantly. Winning the Ashes has given them more confidence and belief (as if these factors have been missing in their cricket, pre-Ashes05).

The game was lost in the first innings when Pakistan batted. Any team that collapses from 160 odd for the loss of one wicket to 274 all out on a placid batting surface, does not deserve to win and should not expect it either.

Having said that, the inability of the Pakistani batsmen to make any serious inroads into the English batting is disconcerting. Are they really as good as they are made out to be?

OUr negative mindset was clearly our downfall here. You cant win unless u believe u can. I mean there was no excuse for us to crawl along at 2-an-over on this paradise of a batting strip. THats what gave ENG a glimmer of hope. THey put the squeeze on to the extent that we resorted to desparate tactics. Having said that ENG is a very impressive bowling side. Much better than us. We need a leader whos alive and buzzing all the time. THats what gives a team impetus and motivation. Its about time that YK took over. It seems that leading from the front wont be enough for PAK team. WE need an in-your-face captain, a natural born killer, a guy whos whole persona screams "I'm here to destroy u and fight until the last ball". Ideally i wud have afridi as the leader rallying the troops but unfortunately they are not even playing him let alone make him incharge.
