There is one brand that I know of. Will have to go to the shops and find out what it is- with choco topping I think.
Standard marshmallows contain 99% gelatine!!

gelatine can be halal as well.

not when it says 'pork gelatine' on the packet!
Veggie gelatine is far more expensive than std beef/pork gelatines.

the closest i come across in the uk is Kosher ones sold at sainsburys(chingford E4).
thinking of importing myself in the future..
that and proper jelly( not he imported powder kind..but the jelly set in packaging. ...i miss from childhood - thats b4 we all knew the difference as most pakistanis who come over fresh off the plane in the 60s and 70s didnt knw the concept of halal and haram bcos evrything in Pak was halal in the first place.

GEORDIE (and other Mallow freaks)
I have GOOD NEWS!
Just been on the phone to Tunnocks...their Tunnock's tea-cakes are suitable for vegetarians and their marshmallow does NOT contain any animal derived gelatine.
Available at most supermarkets.
Heres what they look like:-

I have just bought a box of 6 for £1.00!

Toonboy,
As well as scanning :-* the packet, I've also included a link (http://candyland.trustpass.alibaba.com/10676269/10916293/Confectionery/Marshmallow_In_Various_Shapes.html)!

Maunfactured by a company called Ismail Industries, who have bases in Karachi & Islamabad, and then exported to various countries.
If you want to get hold of some, follow these instructions to the dot:
Go to The Broadway in Southall and stand in front of Partaps Fashion; at about five minutes to midnight, a cruddy white Transit will pull up in front of the store. Approach the back door carefully, knock three times, and say "I love Chacha's Marsmallows" in a freshy accent. They'll give you a box of Marshmallows at which point you must hand over the cash. If at any point, the Police are spotted, the whole deals off - got it? ;-)
Seriously, if you're desperate, I can mail you a box, that is if you incur the expense |-G

Not really in Southall, but a place called Hanwell - the local Masjid (W13 0SQ - type into Multimap.com) sells it to be precise.
Maybe you can import it from Pakistan, I'm not too sure, but that would be more expensive.
