Salman Butt, the Pakistan captain, has one charge pending from that Oval Test, a fact that had not been made public previously. But Michael Beloff QC, chairman of the three-man independent tribunal, said that Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer are no longer under scrutiny for events at The Oval. It was not stated what the players had been accused of.
The dropping of the Oval charges against Asif and Aamer will hasten a verdict. Asif, Aamer and Butt still face a variety of charges under the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code relating to Lord’s, where they were alleged to have accepted payment for bowling no-balls at pre-agreed times.

I think Salman is meant to have played out a 'fixed' maiden or something.. not sure.

Match wasn't fixed, certain aspects of the match may have been fixed (spot fixing).

The allegations relate to a maiden over that was meant to be played out by Butt.
However as far as I can see, during the test match, Butt did not bat out a maiden over.

whatever the case might be against him for oval test , salman butt should be punished for the cause to disgrace the country .

@ Saj - Then again, why are the charges there? If the alleged "fixing" did not even take place?
Or is it the same as the Oval ODI and Sun fixing thing?

so does this lower the odds. As supposingly Mad max said 2 no balls and a maiden over would be done in this match. So rather than have 3/3 right he had 3/6 right??? Therefore reducing the odds from somethin in a million to thousand ;)

my man all the matches we had lost had to be fixed either by 1 player or more player..its just that the news media is bashing players now.

I don't remember him saying that but if he did, its nothing to fuss about since its a Test match. Maiden overs are common. :13:
Pardon my ignorance on this issue though.

Dude, this is crazy - we won this match!
With butta scoring vital runs in the 4th innings (47 or 48), and moyo stabalising all the way through!

it couldn't have been fixed unless england was involved too

So we lose a fixed match, and we win a fixed match too?
And we win a fixed match and the guy who allegedly fixed the match DID provide with important runs to help win the match?
Are you Lorgat in disguise? :34:

Called Spot-fixing, you don't fix to lose the match but you fix certain aspects.
