sami. what did sohail do so wrong today? not to mention that he hasn't had much international cricket at all! Give him time to come back in to form. Anyways he will be replaced by Akhtar!

Mohammad Sami is the winner of this unlucky designation.
The worst part about Sami has always been his out of whack radar. Even on his good days - the odd delivery (one or two per over) tends to be sprayed way off mark and it gets the treatment. He has always been an attacking option, but one that went horribly wrong for Pakistani cricket.
These days he's mediocre. Too many poor days and its just not worth the hassle.
Sohail Tanvir isn't guilty of spraying the ball around. He's just not quick enough to trouble the batsmen after they get past that initial awkwardness.

Its not so much poor days from Sami, as when he gets edges or the batsman gives a catch, the fielders always drop the catch. Adnan Akmal, who had 7 catches in that Test innings, dropped catch off Sami's bowling, Hafeez and Fawad are examples of fielders who take very good catches and are good fielders, but they drop the simplest catches off of Sami's bowling. If someone watches cricket instead of just looking at scorecards, they see that Sami often bowls quality, its the fielders who let him down. And if that happens often enough, the bowler will start spraying the ball around trying to do something else. Its no use saying if he bowls a good line he'll get the wickets, because those wickets are dropped. So he has to do something extra, find some other way to get the wicket, and of course the ball sprays around when this becomes the case.

remember the Tanvir over in the T20 WC against Sri lanka in the early stages, we lost that match. That was the worst spraying i had ever seen. tanvir was dropped for a long time after that & we won that t20 world cup.

Sami is the bigger sprayer but despite this he's the better bowler of the two.

Mate you don't have an average of 50+ in Tests just because you are 'unlucky'.
