I will be in Luton tonight, assuming all the EDL nonsense is all quiet now.

When I go to the Bury Park area I normally eat at Tubby J these days as I like halal steaks. I am with a friend who wants real authentic Pakistami food, so what do you local Luton lot recommend?

I have been to most of the restaurants such as Shahi Nan and Grill in Bury Park area and never had that wow factor.

Bro personally id stick to Kebabish or Grill House, whats wrong with their salan and rotiahn ??

You can try that place which is on 2nd floor, in between dixys and Grill house. They do dehsi kana like trotters, or else theres a shop further up called Dehsi Kana.

I love 2 pc chicken and chips drenched in Chilli with salad from halal fried

Or you can try that buffet lounge place and eat as much as you want for 6 quids or something.

You cannot beat a bit of local knowledge! Cheers boys.

Is Kebabish the one on the opposite side of the road to Grill House and Tubby J's?

I will probably go to Grill House - are there Salans proper desi style or the normal standard gravy with a few different spices here or there stuff? Last time I went there, I only had grilled kebab stuff.

I am intrigued about the 2nd floor place. Is it new and does it do proper nihari and haleem too?

Her indoors is now moaning that I am going out whilst she is stuck at home with the children. She is not really moaning but doing it in a indirect female fashion.

Who does the best doggy bag in Luton!!

I wanna buy her some grub when I set off. Cold two pice chicken and chips should keep her happy!

Whilst I have you online, what places in Luton can you go to for a proper cup of doodh pati.

Why dont you buy her a grilled baby chicken (grill house) and tell them to wrap and seal it in extra foil, itll set you back about 5 quids but it will remain fresh and fairly hot and eatable, unlike a chicken and chips left in the box for 30 mins. cant eat stale chips. make sure you get salad portion and sauces with that baby chicken.

I ending up going to Grill house and finshed off going to Al Deen for some mithai and chai afterwards.

Not too impressed with Grill house. I had my usual dish of Lamb Biryani and their version had without a joke about four pieces of meat. Also shared a Lamb Bhuna with friend and that was okish.

Not overly impressed but it is very hard to find a decent Pakistani restaurant. I have an authentic one I go to in West Hendon. It sells proper Pakistani food like Nihari and Haleem and I believe that its customers consists of ex leaders such as Musharraf, Nawaz Sharif and Shaukat Aziz. The restaurant is cheap and cheerful but good.

Luton I feel is good for the grilled stuff and fast food but yet to find great authentic Pakistani food. Tubby Js is brilliant for halal steaks, do you agree? Their steaks seem fresh rather then the frozen nonsense you find in some places and they know how to cook them tender too.

Ive had lamb chops from tubby js, not had the steak, but prefferred grill house ones whose mix grill is the bomb. For chicken and chips Halal fried is very good. But if you wasnt fond of grill house you were better off going elsewhere like that place between grill house and dixies or even al-deen their curries are all more or less the same i guess, I usually have curries and biryani at home, only grill and fast food from takeaways, Anyhows next time.
