Hello,

I have a question about some of the young players that have been talked about but did not really make it to the national team. Does anybody know why Hammad Azam vanished all of a sudden? he was said to be the next big thing and now he seems completely gone, does he have fitness problems or the form?

Also, Umer amin showed a bit of promise but did not make it to the squad even, is he out because of the spot fixing scandal or performance?

Should the opener babaz azam be given a chance at some point?

I'd like to see what you guys think.

thank you.

khurram,

First of all welcome to PakPassion.

In regards to the above three, I don't think either has really done enough to prove themselves on the international stage just yet. Hammad Azam bowling is still not quite up to the mark. Umar Amin has had his opportunity which unfortunately for him he wasn't able to take. I don't know much about Babar, but I suspect he is not scoring all that much in domestic cricket.

Theyre all still very young and need time to develop. One of PCB's biggest mistake is rushing young talent onto the international scene without properly educating/nurturing the talent.

Hammad Azam is a capable player who probably won't make way till Razzler retires or starts to fizzle away. He is still playing domestic cricket and also on the A team, but hasn't seen any selection attention for the national squad since the 20/20 WC last year.

Umer Amin did nothing during his previous international outings in the Asia Cup and England tour. He in my mind needs more time to grow as a batsman but he still has plenty of potential.

Babar Azam is what 16? He needs to play a lot more domestic cricket and prove his worth. Let him groom himself in Pakistan before being selected. Plus our opening pair is settled for the moment and he's just too young.

Babar is only 16. He was 15 last year, so he still has time still. Hopefully we will see him in the national team by the next WC. He should continue to be part of U19 tours like Amir was, play next year WC and then blood him into A team in a year or two. No need to rush his development.

Hammad Azam I think is 18 now. Still very young and will hopefully be in the team in a year or two as Razzaq probs fades away (I don't think Razzi will retire after WC).

Umar Amin is 22, still young as well. Hopefully we will see him get more chances in limited over format if YK, Misbah, Yousuf all retire.

Umar Amin and hammad Azam both played in the domestic 50 over tournament final last week. They have not vanished anywhere. they are very youg and their chance will come soon.

As for Babar Azam, the kid is not even 17 yet i think.

Hamd Azam can be played along with Razzak. He should be given an opportunity after WC against West Indies. He should be batting at number 6 and should be used as the second change bowler.

Hammad bowling is below par to consider him a 2nd change bowler. I feel he is a proper batsman who can bowl a bit. He has to do hardwork on his bowling to become a proper all-rounder.

Umar Amin : Failed , also appeared in that video from Mr.Majeed

Hammad Azam : Need's to work hard on his bowling

Babar Azam : Chance Required

Only if they give Babar a chance and let him play few games i think it would be better for him if he learns in international cricket rather than in domestic, he will surely learn a lot
