I think this pitch will offer more initial help to the seamers than the other 2 pitches did. If we can pick up some early wickets and put them on the back foot we have a good chance. It's all about winning sessions and we should look for at least 3 wickets in the first session.

nafajafam

good. hopfully there is something in the pitch for our bowlers.

I think Pak will be happy bowling albeit a cloudy morning and sunny afternoon.

This is surely the toughest test so far !

Pak have a very very tough fight in this match - I expect a lot of fireworks and some ICC Referee action here.

England win the toss and they now have a chance to expose Paks batting under pressure in the last innings !

Good Luck Pak ! - who dares wins ( or draws the match !)

Vaughan looking very sure of himself. He knows exactly where his off-stump is, this early in the game. Perhaps, I should revise my prediction?

Okay, I say Vaughan falls before 100.

Any takers?

Pakistan are being defensive as they lead the series. Negativity isn't a good thing, but to be fair, who would you have dropped for a bowler? I don't think we have much bench strength in all-rounders at the moment. There is no way I would go into this test match with just 5 specialist bats either. I'm curious as to why Sami was preferred again. Hopefully he will prove us wrong. Shoaib and Rana haven't managed thus far to get a breakthrough, so it's up to him to do something.

BB bhai acc to Inzi last night on Captain's corner he said we wont be dropping Sami bcoz then the team will have 3 new faces.

By the way Shoaib and Rana bowled superbly specially Rana. He was beating Vaughan at will bus unlucky raha. not getting the edge. and regarding Sami Holding as Nauman said we hope and say the same b4 every match kai he will prove us wrong but ............

That's a conservative approach (about 3 new faces). I don't think that should matter if you are replacing someone who is not performing. However, let's just continue to hope Sami gets some wickets (we have no choice now).

Noddy bhai dont mind yar if u have such good knowledge of cricket cant u see that Sami is not fit for Test cricket. I think so u being his cousin or relative should suggest him to reconsider his career. He has a good career in modelling ala Salil Ankola.

Another sincere suggestion to Sami (being from my city ;-) I want a better life for him ) he should immediately apply for a Bangladeshi or Zimbabwan passport as he is not even suited to play club cricket in Pakistan or any other major cricketing nation including India. damn India wud have dropped him up till now

Well, it looks like this negative defensive mentality is biting Pak on the ***. We previously had the good fortune to win the toss on these very flat pitches but in this match the tables have been turned and if England get a good score, Pak will be hard pressed to draw the match, let alone win. Pak still managed to keep it tight on this flat surface but then Sami came on and released all pressure. 3 fours in one over off Sami was not enough for Inzi to take him off - he had to concede another 10 runs before what was plainly obvious dawned on him.
