Lol you're talking like you're missing the old days of the 90's.
You said you're 15 so you were born around '95-'96.
Think of it like this.
Instead of the older members on here who are going through this and miss the old days, when the Pakistani team gets mere experience and rebounds, you'll look back at these days with a smile on where your team has reached.

It was the biggest occasion, the world was watching, the stuff of dreams & we bottled it hard.

Don't even remind us of that dismissal of his
What a terrible pre-mediated attempt, and then Munaf Patel started swearing at him too. Man he scored like 43 odd, he could've won it for us.

Cricket is a game. You will move on. Right now you have school and home and i guess friends. As you moveon in life, you will have other things and responsibilities to concentrate on, family, kids, projects, job. So, it will be easier to tolerate emotional stress. There are far worse things happening in Pakistan than just losing a WC match.
Gotham Cronie

It's happening right now. With each test match, with each innings, with each wicket, the players are gaining experience.

One way to deal with this emotional stress is to watch the videos again and again to de-sensitize yourself. Or, you can totally avoid reading about WC/videos and concentrate of other positive things around you. With time, any of above approach will make you forget WC and you will come out as a stronger person.

I thought PCB and pakistani fans dont like experience. They always want to keep building the team for future and happy to lose all the matches in present(from 2000 I guess.).
PCD has made the life hell for experienced and better player like Yousuf, YK and Akhter. and more importantly even fans dont like them too.
So I say these fans deserve what they got in semifinal and what they got in 1st test match against WI.
I am sure they willl win against ireland and zimb and it will make them happy :P

YK had to attend to his brother's death.

At this age, everything is emotional. A cricket match, a cute friend in school and a harsh word from parents. At this age we take everything so seriously. Once you cross this state, you will think back and say "why was I so upset about a cricket match?"

If anything the 90s were more depressing. Sure we won a lot but we hugely underperformed for such a talented and skilful outfit. We lost AT HOME to Zimbabwe...I mean come on. I mean I don't think it was bad, it was actually quite fun, but in a way I prefer a less capable side scrapping hard. People just tend to look at the past through rose-tinted glasses. The 80s were our peak
Basically my point is this, get over it :D

OP, it was hard trying to get around some of the reaction to SF loss. This Pakistan team was hardly backed even by its own supporter to top the group or be in the semis. They were beaten by the favourites in their home ground. I am not sure why people reacted in such extreme manner. Pak. team exceeded everyone's expectations.

Boy, I understand your feeling. I have been thru this my whole childhood when I couldn't even swallow my dinner after team's defeat. My patience exhausted after 2003 WC final defeat. Thats when I stopped following cricket. No point mortgaging your emotions for a bunch of 11 nincompoops who are in the team not for their right talent but for their right contacts (This applies for both India and Pakistan). Now that I have entered into my thirties, other things have taken precedence and victory/defeat for the team matters too little. Even in this WC, I rarely followed any match (including India-Pak). Your emotions are too important to be wasted over a cricket match played by players who do not even care for the tears of millions of young kids while fixing matches.
Go out, spend time with friends. Atleast they will reciprocate your affection & care.

Indeed. Painful it was. Saw the entire match but somehow can't recall the bumped catch.
Anyways we did have a sweet revenge after that in the next match where Kumble took all 10 wickets. That should soothe a lot.
Here India went on to win the World Cup and establish supremacy in both forms of cricket. Something which could have been avoided by taking a few simple catches.

I still remember that sleepless night, the gorgeous sunrise from the corner of my curtain, the euphoric spring to the kitchen for breakfast. The TV was switched on in the living room with the volume a bit higher than usual.
Then it came. That pulsating moment. The ecstatic rapture flowed through the body as the teams strode out in magnificent Mohali, greeted by chanting spectators; many had climbed on top of buildings to catch a glimpse of history. The National Anthems were sung, an extra supply of coffee had been prepared in advance knowing the profundity of nerves that were to be tested ahead.
Sehwag's crushing of Gul felt like hammering of the heart with a batten. A reality check of brutal supremacy. The emotions of delight were rekindled as Wahab stunned India, priceless joy.
The end scenes were of numbness as Misbah swung high into the Punjab night and was caught. The soul collapsed, the mind boggled and the body began to ache.
I switched the TV off with disdain and grabbed the BMW keys to go for a speedy drive to release the tension.
Memories remain.

This video reminded me of those matches I saw in my college campus. The really big matches get screened in an open air ampi-theatre with a seating capacity of about three thousand that is overloaded, more often than not.
I watched the 2007, T-20 WC finals and semifinal and final of this World Cup over there. The scenes were very similar to those shown early on, in this video.
The winning moment in the 2007 WC was unbelievable, since, it was not clear till the end, who'll win. When the ball went in their air, there were collective groans because Misbah had scored runs off similar shots and for a second, everyone thought that was a six.
And I really don't remember what happened after the catch was taken. Everyone just went bonkers.

Dear zoi321,
I too had this problem when i used to get too emotional with the result. Now i am perfectly free after regularly practicing Yoga and watch the match by purely enjoying the contest between bat and ball. You get too identified as if like you are playing there...The result should not decide how you live now...If it decides, we are wasting our precious life for something not in our control....IF you simply see it is a game and dont take it personal...Many wonderful things can be done instead of just wasting time on the result.
I may sound philosophical, but if you simply think for a minute, that is the true reality. If you are not in reality, you simply hallucinate both in victory and defeat.
It takes a lot for somebody to post honestly like this without hiding the emotion and i truly appreciate your strength and guts.

India and Pakistan has good cricket and players are really the best one in the world. You can't compare them , everyone is different on its own.
India-Pak cricket is game of handling pressure and not purely cricket. The one who handle the pressure is the winner. It doesnt mean that looser is not playing well.
Its finally an game and not world war......this is what afridi had said before the game start.

Slmz, there was a thread on everyones feelings / emotions the day after the semi, was quite helpful as many had same heartache.
Why don't you watch highlights of matches where pak came out of an impossible situation to win a match-there are many of those. It makes us realise why we love pak cricket so much and how unpredictable they really are. Honestly you feel that if they badly want to win a match they're unstoppable and if they don't want to they can lose it needing 25 runs with 9 wkts in hand(a test match). I wish i could be their pschycologist and motivate them with my bayaans (lol).
Anyway believe in taqdeer and remember that everything happens for a reason. The final t20 still bugs me,what if Misbah hadn't played that shot? But end of the day taqdeer was written in Indias favour and Pak could never have won as ultimately everything happens with the will of Allah and He knows why. Maybe it's a test for us but should strengthen our imaan as the ultimate victory is Jannah!! If Pak had won maybe a real tragedy would've occured.

Im 15 and i think i have emotional problems from starplus. :( when ever i see the highlights of Pak Ind match i feel im about to cry and im depressed all day when i see our team in shambles like this. From the 90s when we were at the top of our game to the disatorous year of 2010. What can i say ? I just want to say is how can i get rid of this depression the last catch taken made me have a headache. The tears in Afridis eyes make me cry :( help! :afridi

this is nothing, I did not want to wake up next day, after we lost to Australia in 1987 WC Semi-Final in Lahore. I had seen tears in Great Imran Khan's eyes, but a bigger prize waited for us after 5 years, i.e. 92 WC. So remain hopeful, InshAllah we will get a better deal next time!

Just watch this. Forget about the drops/Misbah. This moment was magical, India was stunned.

That was actually a full toss and yuvraj was just too lazy to bring his bat down in time. Too quick for him. But still a very nice fast inswinging low full toss.

It wasn't a perfect Yorker but the moment was still magestic.

Absolutely.
India were still on front foot despite the run rate slowing down. But, those two wickets and especially this one changed things completely.

Yep.
The best moment of the match for Pak fans.
India v Pak matches bring such dramatic swings in emotion.
