A friend of mine recently returned from Hajj and he was sharing his pics and they were some of the best photo's I'd ever seen of Makkah and Madinah so after getting his permission I thought I'd share them with you!

He said he was chased by the police and had to somersault over the walls and escape on his trusty steed, so extra thanks to him :-D

specially in haram we need to be extra carefull

The saudi's allow photo's and even films to be made 'when it suits them' and personally i dont think they have any rights to put prohibitions on what Muslims do in regard to Makkah and Madinah.

Its just their usual stance of we are the saudi's so we must be right!!

Security reasons for what??

every tom dick and harry has a mobile in there, and the saudi take a hell of a lot of pictures which they then sell on. So double standards from their point of view. Also an additional 2 points. Firstly its the house of allah so he will dictate whats allowed and whats not allowed. Secondly as for the law of the land, the saudis are not legitimate rulers and the rules they apply are not necessary islamic just the ones that suit them. So the rule of the land does not apply as it is not legitimate. Even the islamic rules require an islmaic mechanism for application, which the saudis definately dont have.

thanks, beautiful pictures. i have performed umras but not hajj. inshAllah will do so some day. MIO do you have Arafat's pictures? i wonder how people feel offering namaz on arafat's soil as that's where we will all be gathered on the day of judgement.
