View Full Version : Worst Team to Have Toured England in 10 Years?
Poison

Given the immense buildup, anticipation, big names, top 2 sides in world cricket fighting it out etc ... is this Indian side the worst touring side to England in 10 years?

Not sure about worst, but worst-performing yes. Worst-performing since Bangladesh in 2005.

Yes. I remember someone creating a thread for this series 2-3 months prior to its start, everyone – including me – was talking about how it’s going to be a close one, etc and Indians hyping it up as usual, then BAM! The numero uno turn up and play worse than minnows. The hell?

Easily the worst performing ... I was saying Pakistan played better as a bit of a joke earlier, but it's legitimately true now.

The results speak for themselves, this Indian have been an utter shambles. I cannot recall a more toothless series of performances by a touring side here for quite a while.
England have steamrolled them in all departments so yes, probably the worst performing side for many years.
Quite astounding how this series has panned out after the incredible promise and hype. The Poms ruling the show.

India....Hahahhahhahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahhaha hahahahhhahhahahahahhahaha.
Someone needs to bump that thread.
Would have to agree with you J.
Everyone besides Dravid and Praveen didn't even turn up. They could have sent an India A side and they'd have shown more fight.

It seems Sachins 100th 100 may just become the new Bradman 99.96.
The tragic way he got out today is pointing to that happening.

India no doubt, even Bangladesh scored 300 +.

Btw this reminds me of the Shastri Sohail battle pre-Mohali.
Give Pakistan 10 chances against India on a greentop (or non-Indian) pitch and we will take it 8 out of 10.
I'd say we would take em 10/10 now.

Sure they may have the worst bowling attack in cricket, but I thought batting was their strong suit. They have been bundled over in each test match, like a poor minnow side. India are the new Bangladesh.

They have been awful. Its not just about losing but the way you lose.
It all comes down to big egos and poor preparation. And Indian fans can keep defending IPL all they want but I have no doubt it played a part as well in this humiliation.

West Indies lost to England a few years ago. Difference there was nobody expected the side to do well, the conditions were very bowler friendly and West Indies at least scored big on a few occasions.

A pathetic outfit with no bottle and fight. Send these rockstars back to the circus in India.
They are the worst team because they don't even try, Banglaldesh would have faired better.

I do believe that's what Strauss and co. have been doing for the last three weeks or so. Lining them up and beating them to a pulp.

Worst performing team for sure
Pakistan even with a depleted batting line-up (missing Misbah, Younis and Yousuf for various reasons incl. PCB politics) lost 3-1 against England in 2010 but that series was marred by the spot-fixing controversy and our players were in no mental state or shape to play the last test.
India on the otherhand go into the final test facing the very real prospect of an ignominious 4-0 whitewash. This is already India's worst away performance for 40 years.

I think 2007 Ashes and this India tour are about evens in terms of the scale of the defeats. The only difference being that England had a couple of good batting innings on that tour.

Yes. Why?
1. India WERE No.1.
2. They have been beaten senseless.
3. It could be a 4-0 whitewash. A whitewash of 4-0 has only ever happened once in 150 years in England.
