I have only seen him play 2 mathces. One against Wet indies and against Australia today. I thought he bowled well with decipline and hin of swing both ways. He's speed is slower then Razzaq and just about same as Khalil. I'm not his big fan but I think he's been hars done by fielders in last 2 games. His figures should have been much better then there are.
My question is:
Why are we seein pkaistani bowlers with no pace ot much swing just line and length bowles(Riaz, khalil, Rao, Asif) ?
Is it because of the picthes made in Pakistan to help bowlers, put the bowl on sp[ot and let the pitch do the rest, no effort required.
line and length can be very potent, look at Umar Gul, Pollock, McGrath and even Zoysa of late.
I call him leg stump Rao, which is fine to LHB but he looks like Khaled Mahmud to me.

The guys I mentioned above Riaz, khalil, Rao, Asif are nothing like tradional P{akistani pacers. They don't have any thing special about them. GUl has no pace but way better bowler, gets the batsman to make mistakes
u need a mix SaqiD. But a left armer is a must.
Umar is the modern day Aaqib - is that a fair assumption?

A left-armer is a must IF a a quality left-armer is available. Khalil has to develop the ability to consistently swing the ball into the right handers to have any success in international cricket.

I'm a big fan of Umar Gul and I can't wait till he comes back.
What do you think about Rao in last 2 games? I was quite impressed with his profermance. Although I dobt it if he can perform on sub continent pitches
I find it amazing he was picked when it was clear he didnt have the capability. Dont like his action, looks like Chris Harris the way he seemingly rolls the ball out of the back of the hand and the long sleeves dont help either. There must be someone else. SOS Wasim Akram!

I think it was best at time Pakistan can offer. Once GUl, Shabbir, Sami and Akhtar come back all there guys will not see any more international cricket

Amit: Your thinking is faulted! Atleast I don't have a doubt in it at all. Rao is a tall bowler with a side arm action that moves the ball in the air and off the seam. Everyone needs time to adjust to the standards and demands of international cricket! I think he has bowled his heart out in only his second games against the best batsmen in the world on a pitch which itself takes a lot of bowling intelligence to bowl on anyways! So wake up and see the light. From any Pak supporters perspective it should be really a great thing that BW and Pak team management sighted this guy's potential and were able to bring him in the mix.
I think urs is when u so obviously think I am not a Pakistani fan. And whats so hard about bowling on any pitch, put the ball in the right place! Rao looked ok but never a real potent threat. u wanna wake up and smell the coffee yaar. Still are you Indian? Well Kapil and Sri aside............and if ur Pakistani well I suggest u do some history lessons. These guys wouldnt lace Shoaibs boots never mind Imran, Wasim, Waqar. SD has it spot on, wait til the big guns are back.

GAry I don't have anyting pesonal against him. The credit should be given toi him for performance he gave in last 2 matches.. Although his figures won't show all that, only IF pakistan took catches.
he hasnt done too badly but lets not drop our standards!

i think rana should stay..
therefore our front line bowlers (pacers) for the upcoming india tour should be
rana, sami and shabbir...
along with kaneria as specialist leggie
