Who's the mumbling commentator? Barely understand what he's saying ..

Taylor gone !!

Terrible performance from England so far. Off to work soon and pleased to be dragged away from watching this shower.

Don't know who the Irish guy on commentary is but he's hopelessly biased. Calling the Irish players by their first names and mumbling his way through the few positive moments for England. How do people like him get paid to do these jobs? And the rest of the world says English commentators struggle to stay objective.

Wow. Been watching all of the match so far. Ireland have been bowling brilliantly. Accurate line and length as well as using the seam from the pitch well. No loose delivery every over you expect from a team of their ranking.

Looks like Pakistan did well to bat well against this team in these conditions where England are struggling.

Trott can't play?

Is it me or Boom Boom just recycled the Pakistan world cup shirt design for Ireland!

Ireland are not your typical minnows... They are a much better side and have some tough players in them...

I would like to see them get Test status soon :)

England 172-7 and in some bother.

Even if Eng end up with just 190-200, I'd still back them to win it, their bowling is superior. And this is no bangalore where Ire batsman can knock off these runs easily.

200+ scored, Trott was really poor. Come on Ireland, lets beat these losers.

ST Finn
SR Patel
SG Borthwick
CR Woakes

These are the bowlers.

I think Ireland should win this with ease.

Paul Stirling & Kevin O'Brien should do it!

202 in 42 overs should be an easy target.

202 in 48 overs should be an easy target.

Where did 48 overs come from? It's 42.

First ball 6 from Stirling. This guy is a top batsman. 42 average at 95 strike rate. He did well against us too.

edit: lol he's out now with an ugly shot.

MRSN

There is no good looking bowler in England side other than Finn and Patel.

im conflicted, i want the young english players to do well, but at the same time i want to see ireland play well.

heard ireland trying to create a first class structure so they can get test status, did bang have one before they got test status?

Seems tough to bat on. I really don't like this too young team, need a few more experienced players in the side, bowlers especially, at least one spearhead, should have played Onions. Dernbach is crap.

Ruri
25th August 2011, 14:42
I like Woakes though, easy almost casual runup it seems, his grip is a bit off i think.

Duckworth Lewis is stupid, right, it makes sense to require making double the amount of runs you currently have in less overs than it took.

Sledger
25th August 2011, 16:20
86(58) required, revised target. Captain Porterfield is out second ball after the resumption.

Sledger

43/3 - ReqRR = 8.9

Other rules were more stupid than D/L system.

England's favourite (maybe future :23:) player in. Kevin O'Brien.

Yeah, it shouldn't surprise anyone if he becomes England's captain star batsman in future. :P

Ireland require another 24 runs with 3 wickets and 13 balls

Cricfan4eva

Like I said, this is no bangalore, Ireland couldn't even chase 123 in 23 overs.

I thought making Morgan captain against his former team was just ridiculous and disgrace. What were they trying to do!! Rub it on Ireland!! Shame really.

Cricfan4eva
25th August 2011, 18:03
^ or you can call it professionalism. If Morgan has no problem playing for England, I don't see why its disgrace.

Forget about him playing for England! Why would you make him a captain specifically out of no where against Ireland!? His own team!!

it's a bit stretch, but it's Kind of ploy that they had done when they were looting the world!! Used same countrymen to fight and rule! (in my book that is ridiculous)

Cause he's Vice-captain of the ODI side. He's next in line anyways.

oh right! Cook is captain, Colly was dropped, they won't make KP captain again. And besides, looking at side, Morgan was the most experienced! may be, i sounded bit harsh. Though, seeing him captaining his first match against Ireland baffled me little bit.

AlizeeFan

I thought these questions about Eng-Ire-SA were just meant to be in funny way.

I don't see anything wrong with it especially when players of foreign origin have been part of England team for decades (?).

I thought it was stupid, but for different reasons, Cook should have played, not like he did much besides the 294 at Edgbaston, no reason why he can't captain the side while Morgan had to.
