problem is in central asia where they get recruits and the masterminds in Arab countries
very few pakistanis join because that is what everyone else is doing , no thinking of their own
stupid americans think Pakistan is in Middle East , and the world trusts them to be able to tell between an Uzbek and an Afghan

Not sure how accurate this figure is. Afghans don't really need to know the percieved cause of their occupation. After being occupied throughout their history reasons mean little to them since nothing can justify 10 years of brutal occupation and war through no fault of their own.

It's not surprising because they had nothing to do with 9/11.
In fact, no one knows who really did it, if you do please forward the proof to FBI who have a link on their website in search of solid evidence.
The plan to attack Afganistan was made before 9/11 and it's just a tragedy the events that have followed there and the destabilization of the entire region based on lies and hegemony.

An Afghan can't occupy Afghanistan. Occupation in this sense always means foriegners coming to rule the native people by force.
It doesn't matter if the Taliban had 3 heads, 5 arms or look like monsters, they are Afghans so have a right to fight occupiers just like their forefathers have in history. Britain has invaded Afghanistan numerous times. When Afghans come and occupy Britain you can called them brutal occupiers, until then go read some history me old chap.

Taliban are Pakistan's lapdogs, they were created in Pakistan by the ISI, they take their commands from Pakistanis and Pakistan provides them with arms and brainwash them in madrasa's against their own people, to the point that the Taliban consider other Afghans non Muslims. So of course Pakistanis would defend this brutal regime.
p.s Anyone who believes that number to be true is truly a idiot.

Bearing in mind that the vast majority of American's know nothing of what goes on outside their own country:
80% of Americans think Iraq is somewhere in Europe.
75% of Americans cannot say where the Atlantic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean, are on a map in relation to the U.S., and if they do, which is which.
Over 50% do not even know that the U.S. has a border with Canada!
And if you think only the 'Hillbillies' of the American Mid-West are like this, some of you may recall that when France refused to support the U.S and Britain in invading Iraq, the U.S. House of Representatives retaliated by ordering that the House cafeterias change the Menu's and rename French fries and call them Freedom Fries instead. (Chips to the English, as in Fish 'n Chips)

One of my family members ( military-man ) have some experience with Afghans during 1980s soviet occupation ... he one met one under training student leader ( later Northern Alliance member , lives in west now ) during the war . He says He asked him that u dont have any good weaponary against the soviet armour ... The resistance member ( merely 20 years old ) replied " we will snatch weapons from the soviets and destroy them with that "

The Taliban that the US wants to fight and the Afghans they are fighting with are not the same. This is the tragedy of this war....
The people who are being hurt the most have nothing to do with 9/11.
People should not defend the Taliban like they were angels. No education for women. Blowing up Buddhist statues etc etc.
The Taliban cannot be supported by any sane individual. Supporting them over NATO I can understand, but saying the Taliban should be in power in Afghanistan is just insane.
GOAT
11th September 2011, 15:58
Whilst the Taliban were no angels, the security situation in Afghanistan was immensely better. Fear is a great deterrent.
Look at their society today, as soon as NATO invaded opium production went through the roof. Perhaps if the world didn't close out the Taliban and offered honest and sincere advice, they could've morphed into something more open and less ignorant. Heck, Islamic countries should've done their level best to encourage a greater understanding of religion rather than the strict and a narrow approach the Taliban lived by.
Still, I see no option in Afghanistan that would be better then them at the moment.

At the time, they were called 'freedom fighters' by Ronald Reagan, and compared to America's founding fathers.

"It will remain a permanent stigma on the face of the Western democracy that America and her allies martyred tens of thousands of Muslims under the pretext of this ambiguous and murky event," the statement says, referring to 9/11.
Children, old men, women and babies are among the victims of U.S.-led attacks in Afghanistan, which also destroy homes, villages and orchards "under the unjustified name of war on terror," the Taliban say.
