:13:
A lot of people have that opinion about Punjabis.
The youth is more into stylin, doing gedi all day on Bullet /gipsy/ SUV (close to GCG mostly :akhtar) and chilling out at pubs or at some local Thheka at evening instead of devoting to studies which is more important.
Families care more about building a Kothhi (bungalow) bigger and better than their neighbour's :23: and spend way too much money on weddings.
And then taking bit too much pride in being Punjabi ?
Is something wrong with the system :13:

Punjabis are the afro-americans of India.Very flashy.Again it might be a stereotype.
I know a few of them and all they talk about all day is pumping iron and hip hop .Really they never seem to stop.A few of my friends have also ventured into the music industry and they do those videos just for the heck of it.They know not many listen to punjabi rap from the place I come .Yet they dont mind spending money on it.

Punjabi's do care alot abt their macho image. I had Honda Unicorn before, and I faced so many taunts. So I had to buy Enfield Bullet 350CC, one very heavy bike, old styled gear pattern, its thump can be heard from 1km. Punjabi's and Keralites are mad about this piece of British Engineering. It's very torquey bike, it emotionally connects with rider.
Its iconic motorcycle.

I was only 12 when I tasted whiskey, my uncle gave me glass in front of my dad. Drinking is tolerated but big no for tobacco products. Opium is also considered high class shaunk and we give to crying child or aging person.
Talking about marriage's, bride's family gifted 7 BMW cars, 11 solitaire rings costing Rs 1.5 lakh each, 11 Tag Heuer watches, Raymonds' woollen suit lengths worth Rs 2 lakh each to close relatives of the families.

Fukra is understatement, we are obsessed and ziddi. I think these traits are gradually developed over centuries due to land being fertile on both sides of border, invaded multiple times, we have contributed to Army and world was at our feet before British arrived.

Don't wanna generalize but the ones I have came across are mostly loud and fun loving.Of course there are exceptions , one of my Punjabi friend the the nicest most chill person ever until he gets mad.Once he gets mad he is out of control.Things start flaying and stuff. This MOFO punched my brand new laptop so hard that it had a dent just because 3 of us friends were ganging up on him just to **** him off lol.

We can't generalize, but on an average I'd say an absolute resounding YES. Ones who're well educated aren't so bad, but the business families and neo-rich paindoos are the worst.
Not saying that people from other parts don't show-off, but it's the show-off along with loud mouthed machogiri that makes Punjabis truly fukre :kapil
(Btw, I'm a punjabi)

It's the same here in the UK- they are way too proud of themselves. There is this one dude at my workplace, wears a t-shirt labelled 'pure punjabi' in huge writing

I have a few Pakistani friends in the UK. With regards to whatever Ninja was saying above: I'm Hindu, my wife is Sikh, and we both get along well with Pakistanis.
One thing I've noticed in my few interactions is that educated Pakistani Punjabis (who've recently moved from Pakistan) don't speak much Punjabi for some reason and prefer Urdu. I found that to be a bit of a contrast to Indian Punjabis who are extremely proud of their language.
