Because I don't have a mobile phone and I don't want one. I don't like pressing those small buttons, I want to be able to handwrite stuff quickly and store it on the way.

Now go click on some ads.

Well I've started working now, its office work and literally I'm to hold most of things in it so the need of a pda is stronger. And yes because of work I have money as well.

z10 I have about 300 but I'm only willing to spend just about 120/140, no more.

Nahi yaar, truely I don't have one. Though my family has been forcing me to take one with me for the last couple of days, which is in fact my mum's, but I despise it. I want a pda, its just like a computer, and I love computers, I want it to be with me all the time. Mobile phone is very limited.

But tell me if you know can a pda do the calling stuff like mobiles do?

z10
17th December 2005, 07:19
that depends on the PDA really

PDAs are being made by mobile phone manufacturers now

so, yes, some do have that facility

I tried that Entra, a couple of years ago i upgraded my old mobile to an XDA II which was a PDA with a mobile phone...

http://www.digichina.cn/news25/up/NewsPic/2004/0709/XDA_II.jpg

...at first it was great and I can even access the internet on it but within the week I went back to my mobile phone because a PDA is far too bulky to use as a mobile phone.

Also i found that the phone on the XDA wouldnt always work properly and sometimes i was getting texts long after they were sent!

Mercenary could that be a problem only with your PDA? I mean it won't be with every PDA right?

Also how does the internet work, you have to pay for it, if yes, to whom? (dumb question perhaps)

I recommend the imate jam. Not got the looks but functionality wise an excellant allrounder PDA phone.

that could be true.

u access the internet via your sim card, so u pay your network provider.

They usually charge based on how much u download/use.

I always browse with images switched off as its so much faster

Mercenary and Kashif can you both please have a look at this one and let me know what you think? I've asked the seller to sell to me right away and he says he will put on the Buy It Now option of 85, so that means just think its being sold for 85, you think its a good enough deal?

entra dont go there. It does NOT take a sim hence cannot dual as a phone, you will need to bluetooth pair it with a phone to connect to the Internet. Plus you can only run Windows Mobile 2002...which is old. MS Mobile v5 (Mobile 2006) is out next month.

It does NOT take a sim hence cannot dual as a phoneOh the... I checked the thing 'Phone Capability' for every other PDA and guess what, missed for this one. Thanks for pointing out.
