Does anyone know any good Islamic poems or have any poems on Islam they have written themeselves?
Traditionally I've never been one for poetry but we have to start somewhere :-D

Seeking God
If by crying eternally, God could be realized
I would wound myself constantly
If by being walked over, God could be understood
I would gladly be the grass of the earth
If by burning in the sun, God could be invoked,
I would blissfully be the sand in a desert.
If by sleeping eternally, God could be known
I would eagerly put a knife in my throat.
If by loving unwaveringly God could be mine
I would be a river with an endless flow

until today ourselves in us concealed we
ascending to realms observed the worlds have we
long ago transcended the century of miracles have we
becoming human by his wisdom amazed are we
when a saint became we
when our divine light our eye did read
when the feast we did set
through the grand tent of maturity
through the congregation of Allah
reached the realms have we
then becoming a drop of holy water
into the oceans mingled we
dust we became vapour we became
word we became talk we became
becoming an altar for everyone
tossed about the anxiety did we
among these possessions all
to the possesor of the single possession
on the path of eternal past eternal future
servant in each breath became we
