Not good stats really. Younis Khan/Razzaq shouldn't be there IMO.
I am a 100% fully supporter of YK in test cricket however this should be the end for him in ODI's. Also I have been throughout Razzaq's career a strong supporter of him however he has been abysmal of late and is living on one innings vs SA. I will give him till the end of this series to prove what he has and if he still has it in him.

perhaps the figures are under inflated. i would imagine the real ages of the aforementioned to be slightly higher, which makes the stat even more remarkable.

Yes.. but that would be true for almost any given Pakistani side.

lol stop thinking about World Cup 2015 from right now
The youngsters we would end up picking won't even make it the the next world cup believe me.
Remember Sohail Tanvir when he was selected in 2007, he din't get to play the world cup.
List of player's selected right after World Cup 2007:
Fawad Alam
Najaf Shah
Sarfraz Ahmed
Nasir Jamshed
Samiullah Khan
Kamran Hussain
Khalid Latif
Sohail Khan
Abdur Rauf
Khurram Manzoor
Rizwan Ahmed
Wahab Riaz
Naumanullah
Mansoor Amjad
All these players debuted in 2007-2008 right after the world cup. How many of them played in the 2011 World Cup?
Only 1, Wahab Riaz, who was very lucky as his chances would had been slim if Amir and Asif were not caught
We could pick alot of youngsters, but nothing gurantees us that they would be availible during the next World Cup.
Pick the best team right now, no matter whats your age. Misbah at the age of 28 made his debut in 2003! Who knew this guy would be still playing after 10 years as a captain, or who knew he would be playing in the world cup.

I think Aizaz will disappear from scene soon - too much competition in that dept. from young players. This is the same reason Tanvir Ahmed was overlooked.
For WC'15, I can see Misbah, YK, Razzaq, and Ajmal not being in the squad. I have doubts about Afridi as well.

Razzaq, Afridi and Younus are two years older than their official age. I remember Razzaq came to Norway in June and he confirmed he was 34 and not 31 as its listed. So that is worrying, but I also think that unless you are a fast bowler you can last a lot longer these days than before.

Very good points....
yes, it is too early to talk about WC 2015.... but having side this old, also does not give you good feeling about even next year.
also agree that we should select our best players - regardless of the age. Imran Farhat and YK can easily be replaced by Asad Shafiq, Fawaad Alam, Awais Zia, Imran Nazir, Shahzaib or shehzad.
Regarding your list of players since 2007, you also know very well, that a pointless musical chair was played with players during DNA's regime and during Ijaz Butt's early days.

I think Afridi will make the Wolrd Cup 2015, his bowling will still be as dangerous as it is now... Ajmal may make it too actually

I really like the team. I will just want Umar Akmal to keep and play another fast bowling all rounder in place of Jamal Anwar.

Umar Akmals not a keeper dude, let him focus all his attention on batting as he is extra talented at that... Jamal is a keeper who is also a very good bat.

Sad, but we're just starting to build a side. I think the only players we can afford to drop right now are Razzaq and Farhat. YK is important even in ODIs. He might not make it till the world cup but we need to play for the moment too.
Razzaq on the other hand just looks like a finished player. I know he might have a few brilliant innings in him, but seriously, we can't keep him in the team. He runs way too slowly, his fielding is average. Bowling is handy, but not particularly threatening. I'm sure we can replace everything about him except his match winning abilities instantly.
Farhat is performing, but we need to get a younger player in for him, or else when all these retirements occur, no one will be left to fill in teh spaces.

This is exactly the argument I like to make when people go on constantly about building a team for the world cup! How can a game as unpredictable as cricket be planned 4 years in advance? The reality is that someone performing today may bot be performing next month never mind 4 years later.
In any case, you have many, many series in between a world cup and some fixation with having a young team in 4 years time shouldn't override the need to win the game today. Keep fielding your best XI players and hope that in 4 years time, you have the quality of players to win you the cup. That is about all you can do!

Jamal a very good bat? Sorry but I don't agree on that. You can say he look to be a good bat, but till he hasn't played international cricket, you can't say he is a very good bat going by his domestic performances.

The only aim Pakistan should have right now is that they should get 1 or 2 aggressive middle order batsmen in the team, like Umar Akmal, and a good pace bowling allrounder.
Problem with the team is that there is no one in the current team who could easily take the team to the finish line with a couple of boundaries.
Awaiz zia, Nazir, Shazaib, Shezad are all openers. If Awaiz Zia or Asad Shafiq or Umar Amin(with improvement) could bat at some where in the middle order or lower that would be better.
But I would still say that Afaq Raheem or Sharjeel Khan would be good for the opening spot.
An allrounder is needed to balance the batting and bowling, Razzaq hasn't been in good form this year. I would say either Pakistan should call Yasir Arafat up or Utilize Sohail Tanvir as an allrounder just like what Shane Warne did with him in IPL.

most of them are still youngsta beauties :vicky
but its high time that we need to prepare suitable replacements for players like Razzaq, YK, Misbah who are not going to last too long for sure either due to age or lack of consistent performances in the LOI's.
