Why is this guy not in the squad? Especially ahead of Yasser Arafat (nothing against Yasser) would be good as a super sub. I think he should definitely be in when Pak go to England he knows the pitches there after having played there for a while and doing very well, and could offer some crucial experience about the english pitches to the side. Also he can bat and bowl a bit too :27:

What ????? Azhar Mahmood :))
I also have a question .... why is Asif Mujtaba not in the squad. That guy can really bat and bowl.
Come on .... look forward not backwards.
This Azhar Mahmood guy needlessly tried to bring into his article on BBC the past drinking habits of players. Ridiculous attempt at spoiling the team harmony.
Team is doing well ... and there is no need to fix something that is not broken.

Azhar Mehmood: Longest ever Male pregnancy in the world; questions is "Will he ever deliver finally"
He looks more like a somo pehalwaan than a cricketer

well, he is not the fittest, but if he manage to keep himself fit, then we can use him...
He should work very very hard on his fitness and perform in county cricket, like akhtar has done,,

Haha, well said! Azhar got his chances when Akram was captain but he did not cashed in on those chances. Unfortunately, whenever he's given a chance back in the team, he's failed to respond positively. Thus, he's waiting on the sideline. I don't see him making the team in the near future but in Pakistan cricket anything is possible!

azhar has been given more comebacks then anyone else...but he never performs....he has gotten quite old now...n u just cant compare razaq to azhar...
as they say jo garajta hai woh barasta nahi
as with azhar three centuries to start off with and then pop....nothing

Please tell me this is a joke thread... you cannot be serious man....
There are better players than Ajju even in the Houston Cricket League and I am not joking...
I cannot believe anyone can even seriously consider him playing him at the international level

Aaaaah, Azhar Mahmood. As big a waste of great talent as there's been in many years, why is it that people still think the supersub should be some guy who is for all intents and purposes not much more than an average bits and pieces all-rounder?
If you're intent on wasting the supersub slot on a mediocre player then at least use it on a youngster who could improve and make it into the first XI in the future and not on a tried and tested failure, regardless of how much potential he used to have years ago.

why pick a proven failure?

Its unfortunate how he was wasted by Pakistan management.
Had the potential to be a great Test allrounder.

imo his bowling never had the penetration to cut it.
saying that, he has better stats than razzaq.

He was a handy stock bowler, and his batting was definitely good especially against pace. We'll never know how good he would have been....:(
