The great :saqi has tweeted:

"If I get any offer from any where to play t20 would love to play"

I want the offer to be made by the PCB! What team do you see Saqlain getting any offer from, if at all? Would he make a good T20 player?

Would love to see him play T20. Thought he was gonna get some games in when he toured the West Indies with Somerset earlier this year - wasn't to be. English counties take note!

Hes past it now. Would have been awesome in his prime though.

^ I thought at his age he would be prime to fit in with the current 'youngster' selection of our team.

Would he make a good T20 player? Of course he would. He'd be perfect. He could get an IPL contract. He still does play cricket. Took a 5-fer the other day.

IPL batsmen will be Lambs to the Slaughter infront of Saqlain

Rawalpindi rams.

Only cause rawalpindi doesnt have a spinner and saqlain started playing cricket from the rawalpindi circuitt

Could the PCB even consider him since he may not be a Pakistani citizen anymore?

its a shame Wasim Akram never got to play T20. He would have been amazing at it.

He's past it now but in his prime would have been a briliant T20 bowler just like Ajmal is now.

would sign him up as a player coach immediately for any club, would be an asset.

people shouldnt forget that where ever he has played international, county, icl hes been a real team man, no controversy or dramas.

only worry i would have is his fielding standards may have slipped due to lack of match practise, definately deserves a trial at least.

That would be some serious spin bowling!

He was in the nets with Ajmal in the last England series and Ajmal apparently was all gaga over his control and flight. I wouldn't count Saqi out, the only problems are his fitness and super poor fielding.

Can't he technically play for England now? :)) Or is that someone else

Indeed.

In fact before Swann became world class, there was a rumour that he was being considered. But I doubt that would have ever materialised anyway.

There is no problem, he is younger than :ajmal , he can play for Pakistan. If I was selector I would have loved to have him in the squad, he is a world class player.

Thats a very good point, I never actually considered this.
Ajmal : 34 years 67 days
Saqlain: 34 years 356 days

Less than 300 day separating them.

where the batsman was dropped twice before he did the damage.

I agree with Sarmad though, never ever, ever, call Saqi garbage. Thats an oxymoron!

seriously though some of the posters here shock me at times Saqlain is way past his prime and we got enough oldies as it is.

Lol, apparently some posters haven't seen Saqlain recently, whatever his age he isn't the bowler people remember. Last time I saw him in English domestic T20s (around 06/07) he was just darting everything in and had become a defensive bowler, a far cry to the great attacking offspinner we all enjoyed watching.

He would have been phenomenal in T20s at his peak though, especially when the doosra was still quite new. A much better version of Ajmal in all probability.

Its not about age, its about fitness Hes not played top level cricket for a long time and his body has been ravaged by injuries - top level cricket is not something you can adjust to just like that

I doubt hes in any shape to play quality level cricket

Fantastic bowler in his prime and would be ideal in T20s but his knees are totally shot. Still so young, spinners have more longevity and he'd be an important part of the team right now, if fit and in-form. He's a shadow of his former self though right now.

One thing we don't need is more t20 spinners. We've already got the best two in the world.

England could use him as a second spinner in T20s if needed. Miles better than yardy or Tredwell.
