After reading various threads of Bob Woolmer bashing, my vote goes to AJ.

Well AJ has his views just like the rest. It is important to be able to accept someone's views and not labor on and on - using all means possible -trying to prove them wrong.
Debate is good but it should remain constructive and shouldn't turn into personal battles.
Anyhow, Farhad has been difficult to argue against.

with AJ i think its more a case of difficult to get thru to, people are always getting the better of him its just he never happens to see it himself and carries on like a bull in a china shop ;-)

the only person to get a good battle going with Farhad was Monsee (specially that lean mass debate) :oD

ya definitely Farhad, followed by AJ
28th February 2005, 01:10
Farhad.

I find it funny that the two PPers getting the votes here had serious flaws in their basic arguments. Farhad's argument (Shoaib) has already been shown up to be the useless burden he is and AJ's argument against BW is as flawed as it gets. I guess there is something to be said for blind beliefs here!

Actually, its me - I am a very difficult nut to crack and very set in my ways etc - on ther hand perhaps Farhad and his defense of Shoaib will be taught in uni courses on forum writing....

when I have an opinion I rarely change my mind and if I do change my mind it wont be because of what other people have said to me it will be because of my own experience/research.

Frankly I think one should never start an argument for fighting, it should be for learning. If your opponent does come up with some good points and perhaps wins the so-called debate, one should accept it. No ones perfect in everything, maybe he won in that one, you may win in something else. Its down to your expertise in a particular field.
However I know its really really hard to accept defeat, coz we're always debating to show others that we're better, and never what we would learn. And the ones who watch the debate also seem to laugh out at those who lose.

Don't know about here..but if any of you ever had visited the bbc discussion boards of "Test Match Special" (when they were up and running), a guy called "saeed anwar's classics" was one articulate and convincing guy to come across
Those boards were the breeding grounds of Indo-pak rivalry (which later also became the main reason for their shutdown ) and he was the only guy who was well respected by both the indians and pakistanis similarly!
Never seen such a calm, composed and articulate poster on any forum after that!
btw, there was also this renowned poster called "Indian from Chennai", who was a pakistani at heart and used to criticise India indirectly and with very sweet words!
The guy had become a legend!

Most Afridi and Shoaib Malik fans simply because if you get into an argument with them, they drag you down to their level of stupidity and beat you with sheer experience.

Farhad was pretty tough, had constant run ins with him when he used to post here ofcourse most was me defending SRT and him saying SRT was shi*..... Old man Miggy is also to watch out for when he is angry....

It's funny how nearly all the oldies in this thread have dissapeared.
Probably Wazeeri; doesn't mince his words and can see through you when your argument has slight weaknesses.
