Hi all. I'm here at the Gabba media box covering an important game for both teams. Ran into Geoff Lawson and he gave me an 'Assalam Alaikum'
Big crowd in today on a very hot day. And a pretty solid start from India thus far. Shoot any questions my way.

Big commotion in the stadium. We all thought he was safe and the third umpire it seems pressed the wrong button. Billy to the rescue.

Yo Genghis, how's Yadav bowling? Does he look like a proper speedster to you or the speed guns are lying?

fc ... we haven't seen much of him today, just a few overs. But he looked likely. Easily the quickest bowler so far today.

Can you please help Sachin score a 100 today? :)

I've seen a few placards with Sachin's 100th century written on them. You know every Indian here today wants today to be the day. :sachin

That was a good over from Yadav. Plenty of pace and a good line too. Not too many runs there.
Pathan is looking good from the other end too.

Vinay was very good with his line. Unlucky not to have a wicket or two.
Zak is back now.

Also the batting power play. A couple of wickets here would be good.

Actually other than David Warner for a few overs early in the innings, no one has actually broken free. Pretty slow going from all batsmen. But credit to the Indian bowlers and fielders. Been sharp.

But we need wickets, it's regular stuff. Opposition teams crush our bowlers in last 15 overs. FromAussies to Zimbabwe all have the same plan against us in One day Cricket.

Must say Punter looked woefully out of form. Couldn't buy a run anywhere.

Is that the start ... Hussey gets one over the infield.
To be fair on India, they have bowled pretty well in the last 15 overs this series.

15 years as an Indian fan, i have been witnessing this game after game. Our defensive bowling gives a false impression till 35th over that all is well when the opposition's scoring rate is kept around 4. But with wickets in hand they always take the final score to 260-270 :23:

No not quite mate. I've seen Shoaib and Brett Lee on a fast Gabba pitch. But the quickest I've ever seen is Mohammad Zahid with some lightning pace here at the Gabba troubling a player of the calibre of Brian Lara.

I am prepared for 270 + total already.
Defence bowling takes you nowhere.

I sense Hussey accelerating here. Took a little while but he's finding his stride now. He's the crucial wicket here.

Looks a good prospect. But I really liked Irfan Pathan too when he first came to Oz. India needs to nurture him and keep encouraging him to bowl fast.

From India's point of view.
250 is usually a pretty standard score here batting first.
100 partnership up between these two. Plenty of bowling changes from Dhoni but no luck so far.

Plenty of disappointment when he got out. Had plenty of balls out there, but just couldn't find the gaps. Yeah plenty are saying he should go.

Wasim Akram was very talkative over dinner. Mentioned that Ponting looks like he's an Afghanistani batsmen and he's lost all his balance, falling all over the wicket.
Anyways back to the cricket... Early wicket for Oz.

Early scare for Tendulkar ... the entire media room thought that was out. Unfortunately the tele is showing the 6pm news so didn't have a replay to look at until we saw the big screen. Right call in the end.

Another one bites the dust... Sharma does without troubling the scorers. India thee down early.

I feel India couldve had this game, I dunno what the heck the top order were doing trying to pull an Afridi with a SiX and out attitude.. I hope Indians can come out better in the next few games...

Most of the crowd has left now. Just a formality now as to how many runs India loses by.
Australia move to the top of the tri-series ladder.
Will have pics from this day up soon.

RR ... 288 was a tough ask. And Dhoni looked like the only one who put a price to his wicket. The game on Tuesday now has a lot more importance to it.
And there's the final wicket ... Well done Wade ... who needs Haddin.

A few steady partnership at the top wouldve made it close with Dhoni taking us home in the end I felt....Its so frustrating to see this Jadeja, I swear it is absolute torture, India should just go with Ashwin and drop this kid for good..........SRT well,,, I dunno why he played this way, a bit confusing really...

Aparently SRT was injured. I completely agree with Jadega. He didn't even bowl today so he was played as a batsmen. Poor strategy.
Anyways I'm signing out. Night everyone!
