I remembered when I went for selection in school team one guy who was there to judge me told me that... you have one over to play.. due to there were more then 50 students who came for a trial... impress me.. in one over.. don't go for big hits.. even if you block a ball I will know your potential... so what I little saw from him... he is way better player than he looks... he is a player without any lime light till now...

Vinay kumar is a full time bowler. A poor one, but a full time bowler. He's done well in Indian domestic for a reason and hence got a call up.

Hammad never would have been picked for solely his bowling. He is a part time bowler, but one we don't even want to rely part time much. The guy averages something like 50 in ODI cricket, and 48 in list A. Vinay at least averages 33 or so in ODIs being a full time bowler. Hammad if we played him as a full time bowler would likely to be hit even more than he is now.

Don't get me wrong, think Vinay is poor. But this comparison is stupid. It's like comparing Harbarjan's batting to Farhat's. Harbajan might look a bit cooler and player nicer shots, but he's still a bowler who rarely does or needs to contribute with the bat. As average/poor batsman Farhat is, he's a better bat than Harbajan.

Hamad Needs work on his bowling. If there is a proper bowling coach in place, he will get better , to be bowling say 6 - 7 overs a game.

Vinay is a line and length bowler who haven't done so badly throughout his career but gets bashed because of lack of pace. He has a bright future.

Hamad is an all rounder who has shown potential, haven't seen him bowl, will follow how he goes next game. But he needs to bat up the order as his batting hasn't been fully utilized, I think :yk needs to retire from ODIs so Hamad can come at 5 or experiment him at 3, like how Pakistan did with :razzaq

i think best position for hammad is at number 6, he is a finisher and can play slow and fast according to match situation perfect for the number 6 position

once I also went for trials. I dont exactly remember his name but He was Mushtaq Mohammed, told us the similar thing.
