I've heard this guy is very fast and also well built but I've never seen him bowl.

Is his action totally legal. We always have problems with dodgy actions such as:

Shoaib Malik
Hafeez
Shabbir
Yasir Ali
Junaid Zia
etc etc

Now that we have got an Academy, why don't the board make sure that any bowler with a suspect action is sorted out b4 playing him.

That way the team and the players 'behsti' will not happen when he is called for chucking.

If we have got genuine pacers with good control and swing, we should give a couple a go against India cos guys like Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman **** it from genuine pace.

If we drop Kotha and the other guys do well, it will put pressure on him and make him work harder on his game and his fitness.

Kotha needs to know that there are other express pacers apart from him.

The way Kotha's fitness is, he will not be around for much longer

We should get Waqar and Wasim to Coach our youngsters.

Wasim helped Pathan and Pedro Collins and they are looking like top bowlers who swing it.

Wasim likes criticising but he should be in Pakistan, working on his replacement. A top quality left armer who swings it at pace

I'm a little biased towards Irshad as that is my father's name.

So how can Woolmer take him to Zimbabwe, won't he be with the team in India?

Seconded Muddy. I can't wait to see him. Sure he might be clattered about if he's very inaccurate but with his purported pace, he'd certainly break through their defence and rattle them.

See below Zimbabwe in April so probably no Irshad in India.

"Two trial matches - one North v South and the other Pakistan v The Rest will be held in February. Thereafter a Pakistan A team will tour Sri Lanka in March, Namibia and Zimbabwe in April, and the West Indies A team will visit Pakistan in June. Bob Woolmer will accompany the Pakistan A team for part of the Africa tour," he added

Shaharyar said by the end of the season in June 2005, the Board should have a clearer idea of the capabilities and mental strengths of its players.
