Is Rana fit to play in Karachi ??

does anyone have any news?

if he's fit he then it will be very interesting to see who will play - we currently have 6 fast bowlers in the squad - shoaib, rana, gul , asif, sami and razzaq -------> 2 of these ( sami and razzaq) have a low chance of playing leaving the other 4 to battle for the remaining 3 spots.

which 3 should play ?

if it is a lively wicket that assist bowlers then i would have shoaib, rana and asif.

if it is more of a flat track then i would bring in gul for either rana or asif.

ofcourse there is the other possibility that all 4 of them will play and danish might get dropped.

Bowlers - Shoaib/Rana/Asif/Danish

Danish has been vastly ineffective in this series and given that Indians play leg spinners well and that the wicket is seaming, green, I will pick four seamers.

Shoaib, Rana, Asif, Gul and we have Malik and Afridi for spinners.

Danish didnt get too many wickets but he was effective he bowled pretty well as was stated by BW after the match....cant think of dropping him...he will have arole to play in the second inns as always....indians r good on spin doesnt mean they cant get out to spinner.......

i think these current indian bastmen have danish figured out well - i would just play 4 seamers and use afridi and farhat for some spin.

btw i'm hearing from indian sources that they will drop bhajji .

Farhat has got Dravid out in a Test, and also in the warm up game not long ago he got him too. We hardly use his bowling in Tests :(

i dont think we should consider gul the saviour just yet.. it would be best not to risk playing him in a series decider. and stick with asif. gul has not played test cricket in a long while.

at least asif will not be an unknown factor.. in fact its prett much gauranteed he would cause indians trouble on a half decent pitch the way he bowled in faisalabad.

gul isn't a saviour - but i think he will be much better then a sami, razzaq or even danish !!

yeah but it would be foolish to sit asif out and play him with
shoaib (who has a niggle) and rana (who is coming back from injury/flu whatever) ..

Asif is one bowler who is fit and we have tested him and we know he didnt do better than others but then againt didnt do too bad overall. he has been consistent..

Gul on the other hand coming back after such a long time is untested at test leve land throwing him into the deep end for a series decider against India would be stupidity of the highest calibre.
