Asif's bowling today was brilliant on a graveyard for bowlers. Nice line and length again and even at the death. Looks like he'll be a hit in odi's too as well as tests. Check this over out:

47.6 Asif to Kaif, no run, right on the blockhole, plays it back to the bowler, just 2 from that over, fabulous bowling by Asif!
47.5 Asif to Kaif, no run, slower one outside off, Kaif looks to smash it hard, play and miss
47.4 Asif to Kaif, no run, makes room and forces it hard and straight to mid off
47.3 Asif to Kaif, no run, right on the blockhole, digs it out to Asif, good delivery
47.2 Asif to Zaheer, 1 run, blocks it to the pitch and goes for a run, no chance of a run there, Asif throws down the stumps to concede a overthrow
47.1 Asif to Kaif, 1 run, slower one, pushes it to long on

Good find for Pak

Inshallah, though lets not put pressure on the young lad, he has loads to learn.

Amazing figures when you look at the other bowling figures in the match.

He bowled brilliantly. Great control and movement.

Please lets not get carried away and start calling him McGrath.........

He has a lot to learn yet and has to keep working hard and be free of injuries. He will insha-allah get better as he gains more experience around the world - hopefully he will also put on a yard of pace when he gets stronger and uses his left arm more in his follow through.

A great talent and a great prospect. Not the finsihed article....and he can go downwards as easily as he can rise upwards......

Agreed. The guy might become a much better bowler than McGrath

Let Asif be Asif

I think Aquib Javed was the one who really pushed his case so that he can be included in the National Academy. Aquib Javed played an important role in brining up Asif. I think I read about this on cricinfo.com!!

Asif should have got the Man of the Match award by a country mile.....

On a pitch where 640 runs were scored in 97 overs..........where most guys went fro 6 and over........Asif got 3-30 a magnificent spell......and he was unlucky not to get more in his opening burst...

I was even more impressed by what I seen today. He was making the ball move even after 30 overs and his line was immaculate.

Displayed further control and variety in the 48th over. I am really excited about Asif and let's hope he is well looked after. Showed the kind of maturity you come to expect from a seasoned ODI bowler.

Man, Asif had me applauding all the way through his opening spell. What a magnificent bowler.. Before Pathan started crashing everything to the fence, Asif had him in all sorts of trouble. In one over he totally surprised him with an excellent bouncer, Pathan could just take a swipe at it looking like a deer caught in the headlights. Next ball a slower one that had him fishing and edging.. too bad it didnt carry and fell inches short of akmal.. wonderful bowling..

well done.. I hope he keeps it up.. Intelligent bowler..

Well Done Asif,

V are proud of U.
Though in todays match there was so much happening(Inzimam Dismissal+ D/L Rule) that People really forgot your Contribution.

But Cheer up Man, sooner or later insahallah in this same ODI series U will be recognized.

Thumbs Up for Masif.

Terrific find for Pakistan - He stood out in a day when most bowlers where hit all over the park. No mean achievement in a match that yielded some 650 runs...

If he performs he deserves praise, considering alot of people didnt think much of him it's nice he is getting praise for his hardwork.

Really impressed with this guy...but he could endup being another gul if not handled properly, and he has done well in twice n relatively helpful conditions ...will be interesiting to see how he does on diff pitches n diff oppositions..cos performance against indians can be misleading attimes!

Excellent with the new ball and at the death. He continues to impress, for someone so new to international cricket.

I think we have found a very good bowler here !

superb bowling, was finding seam movement in the 47th over! Bowled extremely well, unlucky not to get Pathan early on too. This guy's for the future!

Gul's problems with stress fracture were there before that fateful Lahore test and he had not played many matches so you cannot blame his collapse on Pakistani national team. He does seem to have a frail physique though and his action quite honestly is very economical as well.
