View Full Version : The series now has an extra zip/edge - thanks to Chappell and Dravid!

Consider the sequence of events:

1. GC complained about Akhtars action - result ? India crashed to a humiliating defeat - were unable to last more than 60 overs !

2. Now they ran Inzi out and didnt have the decency to apologize, also have created all kinds of impressions about Shoaib - result ? I shudder to think for India !

All said and done, the series is about to explode into another dimension - If I were an Indian player, I would be looking for some extra padding round the upper abdomen area - its gonna be fast, swift and it will hurt - but good news is that the pain will be over very soon!

Do something to lift your country. There were two nations in 1947 with equal economic power. Today one is surging ahead and we are trying to thrash them in cricket.

Thats the problem in this country. The focus is always on the incorrect cause. Probably if the same situation goes, within 5 years Indian IT industry will generate a revenue which is equal to Pak's yealy spending.

Indian are equally religious as we are....but they don't fight for it....we do.

Well it seems you are too overawed by india..let me take your points one by one:
There not two nations with equal economic power in 1947. Pakistan was the backwater of colonial india, with all the industry and commerce being concentrated in the parts that became india

I terms of per capita income, exports there is still the same gap roughly as it was in 1947. India has exports of close to 70 billion and we 15 billion. taking the size of the country into account this represents the same level of development.

Indians are equally religious, and they have their share of fanatics and fight for it. Ever heard of "genocide" in Gujarat. Of course we should be better because our religion teaches us tolerance where our record in this regard is not upto our ideals.
Just creating backoffice call centers dont make a country rich. Compare india's economic figures with countries like Malysia, Korea, china, Taiwan. Even compare it with south american countries like Mexico and Brazil. Facts are facts. Seems like your are much dazzled by this media hype about india "shinning" and feel good factor, which was rejected by india's own people, who apparently were feeling that "good"!

"we were lucky enough to WON the test..." hahaha ..hmm just one of those days huh?hmmm wonder how many more "such days" u guys can afford.oh and by the way,it wasnt one bad day,it was FIVE bad days barring the first over hahaha.see when england came here for the fist test,we were lke yaawn FIVE DAYS of work?thats not how we play,so we let the eng dominate the game for four days,on the last day it was like we picked the ball and said "oh paanchwa din a gea hai? yawn oh fine, might as well" so we jus lazed around for four days letting the english do the work,on the last day we just picked the ball and decided to destroy them and won the game.test cricket,5 days....phshh but with india, well they just got too excited after that one over, just thought wed give u the full treatment, every day, right up to the end. AND NO INZI DID NOT DELAY DECLARATION COZ HE WAS AFRIAD WE WOULDNT BOWL YOU OUT,IT WAS BECAUSE "SINCE WHEN DID PAKISTAN NEED MORE THAN A DAY TO BOWL OUT INDIA?might as well have some fun",turned out to be too much fun, paanchaway din tak to lay jatay.....lull

Could not have put it better myself. I would also like to add that more people live below the poverty line (ie, earn less than a dollar a day) in India than the entire population of Pakistan multiplied by two.

2. Now they ran Inzi out and didnt have the decency to apologize, also

Was that meant as a joke? Last time I checked Inzi got himself out obstructing the field. As for apologies, I would think it should be Inzamam who should consider it for various reasons:

- Arguing with umpires for no reason
- Ignorance of a simple and basic cricket law (that too for a cricket captain)
- Even when the rule is explained to him, still complaining and going on and on about it. Inzi has great qualities as a batsman but it is not funny when he makes a laughing stock of himself in this way.

In my humble opinion, there was nothing unsporting about it. He was obstructing the field delibrately, and was given out rightly so.

It is rather unsporting though to complain about being given out legally and correctly - in fact I am not sure it even classifies as unsporting. It just doesn't make much sense.

I don't really think anyone needs to aplogize - I was just replying to the original post.

That was initiated and executed by Aussies. Greg asking his brother to do so.

That has no relevance to this one. Here Inzi delibrately obstructed the ball (damn, played an entire cricket shot!!). Why on earth should a team not appeal for something so obvious and blatant? Nothing unsporting about it at all.

I was watching live when Ramiz was given out obstructing the ball. The moment he did it, I was like, what the hell..he has got himself out! Sure enough, he was soon walking back.

If Inzi is unaware of simple and basic cricket law, he has no one but himself to blame. What was he thinking when he did that.

I thought I made myself quite clear. The Chappell incident was unsporting. No two ways about it.

Nothing unsporting here. It would be the instinctive reaction of bowler and close fielders to appeal as soon as any batsman is blocking a ball out of his crease (playing a shot to it in this case). I know I certainly would.

What is next? Any batsman can grab the ball in his hands if he can't play it? Then complain it is unsporting if he is given out handled the ball - hopefully Inzamam knows at least about this mode of dismissal.

My advice to Inzamam would be. You did something stupid. Its ok. We all do. Just don't make it even more stupid by complaining about it. Get on with the game.

BUT it was LEGAL

This is what you said as follows

It is rather unsporting though to complain about being given out legally and correctly

So was it unsporting for the cricketing world to complain about something that was legal and correct? or is it plain hypocrisy at play here?

I admit that Inzi is to blame for the dismissal (guess he gave the indians too much credit) BUT it was unsporting for the Indians to appeal when it was clear what his intentions were - anyhow im glad this happened to an extent cos it will give us the mean streak we should have had from the start, the Indian players can shove all this Jeet Lo Dil nonsense where the sun dont shine, now pakistan will be aware that they will go to any lengths to win (Also note bouncers in the dark) its about time we show them no mercy
