Rumour is that the knee really didnt respond at all, it is just dead, even if he comes back he is liable to go over on it (again) at any time. Nothing confirmed of course, but this would be a big blow for us, his captaincy has been immense since he took over.

This possibility proves that anything can happen in cricket, we have to stop going on about the ashes and always be looking to the future.

Yes, about time.

With regards to Vaughn, its sad because he's a pretty good batsman and a very decent person. Hopefully he recovers from the knee injury.

I think his career will end shortly ... you cant play cricket with permanently crotchety knees. Unfortunate ... will probably go down as an above average English batsman ... very astute captain of course.

Failed to live upto his glory years though ... captaincy have huge effect on his batting.

He might be back running by Pak series this summer, but the management should have a Plan B if he comes back and gets injured again (or can't make it at all)

I cant imagine Vaughan being a commentator or something :(
