no onside fieldsman except someone deep, when Kaneria is bowling?

Ian Chappel noticed it and i agree with him.

released alot of pressure for Sri Lanka.

Razzaq bowling or trying to bowl short deliveries and bouncers..

consitions still seaming.. why bowl this?

Not watching therefore won't comment on what's happening but in general one on-side fielder makes a legspinner bowl a defensive line outside off stump. With the ball turning away batsmen can pick and choose deliveries.

Not sure what purpose that serves in the context of this game.

I think Inzi wanted Gul and Asif to be fresh for another burst after lunch but I think Afridi would have been a better choice at this point

the tactical part of inzis captaincy sucks big time, we all know that

His captaincy sucks period. He is by far the worst captain Pakistan has had in 25 odd years that I have been watching cricket.

When will you guys give Inzi any credit. Our bowlers just folded SL out for 185, and all you can do is find the negative things.

I know, we all wanted SL to fold for less than a 100, who wouldn't, but Dilshan is a gutsy batsman and played well once again. We should congratulate Pak on very good performance.

So when exactly was this fresh burst that Asif bowled after lunch? :20:

It is pretty standard for a Pakistani captain to leave plenty of gaps on leg side when a Pakistani leg spinner is bowling. Even Mushy used to bowl to a field that had plenty of gaps on the leg side.

The theory is to encourage the batsmen to play against the spin. But unless the pitch is offering a lot of spin, I would much rather see a field where there is at least three men in the (imaginary) 'circle' on the on side.

I must say, Inzi never ceases to make a mockery of a good start by our bowlers! Someone please buy him a brain!

there were no onside fielders bar down at third man region...

kaneria would had to stick to offstump line, if he bowled stright..that there would be runs.
