All this concern regarding his workload/pressure seems a bit over over the top to me.

I'm pretty glad he's come out and been brushing off the statements - i think he'd be sick and tired of people coming out and saying what they think he's capable of-

he's obviously an asset to the country, but the same management thought nothing of bowling him into the dust in past series and the recent pak series

at least as skip he can control his workload to some extent

he clearly relishes the captaincy, has the support of the team and maybe I'm looking too deep into this one, but it appears a little more subtler than a case of other being "worried" for him i.e. burnout fears

are some quarters not happy with a "blue collar" skipper?

If we'd wanted a toff as captain then Ed Smith would have got it years ago.

why the grumbling of concern then coming from Graveny, Fletcher etc

this is the 2nd time that Flintoff has come out and clarified that he loves captaincy.

Genuine all-rounders have been skipers b4, and some have improved their individual performances as a result - What makes flintoff so fragile or incapable of this?

either way I defo reckon he's earned his stripes to be vice-captain, and 1st stand-in for vaughn, and clearly a captain for England in teh near future
