View Full Version : Are we expecting too much from Gul and Shabbir's return?

Are some of us pinning false hopes on these two?

For the past two or so months on this forum, people's reply including mine to those that criticize the bowling and Shoiab has been "wait till Gul is back"

or when they're naming their preffered eleven
"This side will look excellent with Gul and Shabbir"

I think Oxy bhai brought this up yesterday, but what if they perform no better than Rao or Khalil? Do we expect too much of them by expecting them to save a nation's bowling pride.

Probably we are pinning too much hope on Shabbir and Gul.
but from what i have seen today Rana, Khalil and Rao ain't too bad. but i guess alot of people will disagree with me |-F |-F

Shabir Ahmed is the most consistent bowler in the Pakistan bowling camp. He has done some good job at the test level, only need to prove himself more in the shorter version of the game, but still he is verry consist in the both form of the game.

Our bowling may be taking the path of the West Indies.

I really hope we can find a world class pacer soon with youth and exuberance,

Pakistan is supposed to be a factory for them
He's there somewhere in some galli, someones just gotta find him, and i dont think Wasim Bari can.

We have talented FAST BOWLERS !

Shabbir for sure is a good player in both form of the games. He really bowled well before his injury and soon you guys will see.

Umar gul wel a really sad injury but we have to wait...

Stats look good. Just a question of whether they recover from injury.

It has taken Shabir 29 games to get to his 29 wickets ... while Rana has had 20 games, and is on 29, that too against some of the worlds very best batsmen (Australia, WI, india)

so we would definetly see Rana ahead of Shabbir.

Sami is also no golden boy, and akhtar is a story of his own ...

so right now i guess our most relaible bowlers would sadly include the likes of khalil.

Rana is also someone who will go for a lot of runs on his day ... so u can't have Sami, Akhtar and Rana in the same team, atmost u are are allowed three of them.

but if all three fire, then Rana, Akhtar and Sami are definetly part of one of the best bowling attack, esp. given all three can hit 90 mph.

I am not sure about their quality. They are not always consistent.

Right before tehy got injured they gul and shabbir were being consistent, remember gul's last game against india.

I think there lack of pace is what i think will put sami and rana infront.

Seems SAYING line and length is better is the politically correct thing to say but other than pollock and aussie bowlers who does it work for in todays cricket. I think you have to be above 85 for sure
