What happened to Waseem Jaffar? Did he got stuck there or someone used crazy glue on him?

Jaffer gone for 212, bowled by Bradshaw who got one to nip back in between bat and pad.
Kaif and Yuvraj really getting a move on here.
Partnership of 10 (TEN) runs from the last 5.4 overs! Run rate of 1.76 (despite being in the lead and setting a target on a perfectly decent batting track)

hash bahi, couple of more quick wickets can change the game too
16 runs from the last 60 balls.
Sehsan......surely you can see this is going too far. A couple of wickets can change the game? So are they playing to win or are they playing to save the game?
This is ridiculous. I mean.........3 runs per over, 3.5, 3.25 ok fine. But these two are going at 1.6 per over!
RIDICULOUS
And definitely pours horse manure over all the rubbish that was being spouted about Bata Chappal being a more positive coach than Bob (who was it that said this? It was Imran Khan if I remember correctly?)

India will look to declare at tea on day 5 and then try and defend 600 in 30 overs on last day.
even then india will probably bowl negative lines and have 9 men on the boundary.
if you don take risks, you arnt going to win anything! ;-)
so why not take some risks now.....get a decent lead and declare with 5 or 6 overs to go in the day? You have plenty of wickets in hand so why not?

uhh...the more runs you have, the more pressure it creates, moreso cuz i can't exactly see india losing at this point when we are near 300
Yuvraj gone
Why would you want to accelerate with 5 overs to go? You are saying India should declare overnight? Just give the West Indians time to think things through a bit, give their batsman some time to recover from any tiredness that might be creeping in now?
A positive team would be motoring along now and would have set WI 400 odd with 10 overs to go today. Face it.....India is playing very negative cricket at the moment. A fool would be able to see that and I have seen from your previous posts here that you are not a fool so stop blindly defending everything India does.

its a flat pitch,n playing out a draw wudnt be vry difficult..the only thing indians have done is given a smaller target than wat they cud have given ...a target of 425 n 90+ ovrs wudnt interest the WI's...India can win only if they make the WIs batsmen play shots...you will see wat am saying tomorrow

If Ganga said he caught it cleanly, than they should take his word for it.

150.3 Mohammed to Dhoni, SIX, OMG! Another one disappears out of the ground! He danced down the track and just swung through the line of the ball, that amazing bottom-hand again!
150.4 Mohammed to Dhoni, SIX, oh! what can one say! this one he decides to send over long-leg. Its raining sixes here! quicker on the legs but slightly short and that gives room for Dhoni to free his arms, got under the ball and whacked it over longleg. 100 partnership is up. West Indies are bleeding runs here!
Has the Dhoni show come to an end, if so it was in a typical Dhoni fashion, Not the meek surrender for him, no sir that won't do, but a bold departure! He went down the track, Mohammed sent it, slower, outside the leg stump, Dhoni went down on his knees and hoicked it over towards deep midwicket and the cherry came down at Ganga who takes it at the ropes. doubts were raised whether his feet remained inside the ropes or not, the decision went upstairs. Has Dhoni got a fresh lease of life! The replays were inconclusive, in that tv replays didnt provide the right angle. The decision came back to the on-field umpires. Lara decides to enter the fray, a visibly agitated Lara approached the umpires, wanted the umpires to take his fielder's words. Umpires went to Dhoni, it looked as if Dhoni said he was unsure and is not in a position to take the fielder's word, Lara gets into a discussion with Dhoni now! This is all getting bizarre! Rahul Dravid is signalling from the pavilion, expressing his displeasure. And omg! he has declared! Was it a six or was it out? Things have really heated up in the middle. I have never seen anything like that. UNBELIEVABLE! . This one would feature in one of those books featuring strange and bizarre stories in sport
150.5 Mohammed to Dhoni, OUT, Stop the press! Dhoni is out! Apparently, Dhoni agreed to Lara's take of accepting Ganga's word ... and so the scorecards will record it as Dhoni c Ganga b Mohammed but it won't tell you what drama of soap-opera proportions was played out during that delivery.
Anytime you see the phrase OMG in a professional commentary you know there is something wrong.

Moin Khan, and Wasim Akram too my man... Moin claimed a catch on first bounce and Wasim claimed a runnout against Rahul Dravid on a ball firmly struck back towards the bowler- wasim, by tendulkar. the ball struck the wicket and wasim appealed for the runnout as dravid was out of his crease. replays showed that wasim never made contact with the ball but he kept screaming in bucknor's face repeated till he gave dravid out.
there is no fudging need for the batsman to take the fielder's word. the umpire and all the technology is there for a reason. if those technologies are inconclusive, then the benefit must be given to the batsman. Must be start rewarding bowlers for every lbw appeal they go up for as the batsman should just take the bowler;s word for it?

Dravid and Tendulkar ball tampering (both caught red handed on camera) comes to my mind. I think they too should be added to this 'list' of yours.
I seem to remember Balaji doing the same thing you accused Wasim of. If my memory serves me correctly he did it in the 3rd ODI of the Jeet Lo Dil series to run out Younis Khan.

And both of them like gentlemen did not try to contest or deny or even fight the judgement, how so ever controversial it was. In fact, when tendulkar was called for tampering, he was in fact removing grass and dirt from the ball and a majority of the cricket observers from england to australia came to his defence. In fact, the opposition, South Africa supported him too and agreed to renounce the last game of the series.
And believe me mate, ball tampering accusations have plagued more pakistani players than all the rest of the world combined. I think you are just burning in agony at the mention of Moin Khan and Wasim Akram. From what i can gather of the commentary and match report of the game, Balaji did infact make contact and had a legitimate appeal, the ethics of such an appeal are worth discussing, but nevertheless, Balaji does have one onus over Wasim: Balaji made contact with the ball!

India should be 97% safe now, a team has rarly chased 370 odd runs on the last day.
Kumble will make this total that much harder to chase for the Windies. It'll take something special though as 370 odd on the last day with Kumble is one dam hard task. When the Windies made that record 400+ in the last inns they had 2 days to get it.
But then again, Indias pace bowlers are very inexpierenced, this is testing tiem for them.
I dont think a draws likely here, a India or WI win.

418 was chased here by WI vs the best team in the world.
A draw is still possible because 370 in 3 sessions would be quite difficult and if any one of the WI's top order play a long innings, draw could be possible.
And both of them like gentlemen did not try to contest or deny or even fight the judgement, how so ever controversial it was. Neither acted like a gentlemen....in fact both Dravid and Tendulkar flatly denied it (despite being caught on camera). And you know it is not a fielders job to remove grass and dirt from the ball; he has to show it to the umpire and then take it off in front of him with his permission. That is the common practice which you will see at any game.
And yes there were ball tampering allegations at Wasim and Waqar but the FACT is that NEVER has there EVER been ANY evidence WHATSOEVER against them. Unlike Rahul and Sachin who were caught RED HANDED.
As for Balaji.......I don't care or know what the commentators said. If you have highlights of the game (though you probably don't because India lost and we all know about Indians and their highlights) just watch that incident- you will see that Balaji did not touch the ball.
So who is on this 'list' of yours so far?

lack of evidence in the case of ball tampering is to a great extent due to the lack of proper technology to follow the ball around the park, unlike the contemporary camera networks that purpotedly caught rahul dravid and tendulkar "red handed".
the 'list' as of this moment contains just moin khan who i feel willfully and with a certain level of premeditation violated the code of ethics. there are some other such as roy gilchrist a fiery fast bowler from west indies who resorted to beamers and short pitched delieveries to knock out the batsman if he could not bowl him out; and the architects of bodyline.
i think wasim let his desire to win get the better of him (and now i am saying this a second time). i am sure that in all your ingenuity you can find a clip of the balaji-younis khan dismissal on the net and i ll probably be able to judge it more. and again, why are we adding ganguly to the list?
finally if you think tendulkar and dravid are unethical players of the game, i dont think i can argue with you any more as you seem to suffer from a state of demensia that no persuation on my part could cure (note that i did not add afridi to the list for his pitch tampering that he was caught "red handed" for and duly punished; there are violations, and there are mistakes, and then there are unethical and premeditated conducts).

And you know it is not a fielders job to remove grass and dirt from the ball; he has to show it to the umpire and then take it off in front of him with his permission. That is the common practice which you will see at any game.
Sachin was doing only that, taking the grass and dirt off the seam. Does that constitute as ball tampering? His only mistake was that he did not inform the umpire. That's all.
If Sachin Tendulkar was really guilty, why did Mike Denness apologize to him? Why did he completely clear him of ball tampering?
Do you even know the context of how he was 'caught'? A television company was recording the day's play and saw sachin with the ball. That tape was given directly to Mike Denness Mike Denness immediately announced his decision, but failed to say anything about it. In the press conference, he remained absolutely quiet. Eventually, he cleared Tendulkar of all wrongdoing. He's lucky Tendulkar didn't slap a suit of defamation on his ass.
How will did Sachin handle the incident? With grace, as always. He didn't make any outlandish comments to the media, or cry about it.

:))) feel so sorry for u miggyyyy
If Lara insisted on the batsman to take the fielders word I can see a problem with that.
A) The fielder eyes were firmly fixed looking up towards the ball and he had no chance of knowing if he in fact touched the boundry rope.
B) If the fielder did touch the boundry then all the WI protestations are outside the laws of cricket.
C) The batsman has no obligation to take the fielders word just as a fielder will not accept a batsman insisting he did not get an edge.
D) Ponting raised this issue but the WI cricket players were silent when it came to supporting Ponting and now expect to benifit from something they would not support.
I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for teams that find themselves in this position after ignoring the opportunity to make these decisions clear cut after Ponting and the Australian team pushed for not long ago.
Last day's play about to start, India need 10 wickets, Windies need 379 runs.
All four results possible, should be a good day.

Three quick wickets might have just turned things India's way a bit. Could have easily been 4 down. But with Chanderpaul and Bravo still to come, the Windies might still save the game. Winning the game for them is outta question now with Lara and Sarwan gone cheaply.

well west indies is certainly not going to win now, the only possible outcomes now are either a draw (still credible with the likes of chanderpaul) or an indian win (though they did not really deserve it after their first innings debacle)
Andy Roberts was giving plenty of advice and tips to Irfan Pathan during the lunch break. This might really beneifit Pathan in the long term.

I totally agree.
Taking fielder's word .. wow ... Nobel as it sounds (from bowling team perspective of course) .. tell me why did Gayle did not take fielders word for a catch today which was really very close. Just a day before his captain pleaded Dhoni to walk off after umpire gave him not out. Dhoni accepted and walked. How about a quick return favor. If Lara was really trying to build some character stuff then he should have given the same instruction to his team (to walk off after fielder claims the catch). Afterall he expected the other team to do exactly that and they complied. What happens if Gayle ends up being the difference between losing and a draw or an improbable win?
You see the problem with this logic is that the bowling side will always say that "take fielder's word" and batting side would always think otherwise. What happened in a matter of 2 days shows the real problem. It's basically a theory of convenience. People will always say things which will suit their team in a given situation. The best thing is to accept umpire's verdict and carry on. There would always be some wrong one's but it's part of game.

Nah... a win is highly improbably for west indies. they cant maintain their current scoring rate (and i mean this particular patnership) fr the remaing 50 odd overs and if either one of these two falls, a defeat would be round the corner. maybe west indies should try to score for another few overs, maybe put a scare in the indian bowlers and then buckle down and play it safe wear out the attack and then eventually ride that to a draw.
attempting to go for a win would be fruitless and would almost certainly result in a loss.

Alas! India deserved to win, but i think a win on the back of a poor decision at a crucial stage is in my opinion a farce. But one may also reason that Gayle got a reprive earlier and i think the pendulumn of poor decisions swings either ways. yes. Please scan your notes. Post them in time pass.
Other than that I am perfectly happy with my academic success and don't need to learn anything from someone who spends his time copying and pasting from the internet :19:
i have the notes scanned as an adobe file. let me know if you want me to email them to you... there is a limit on the size of attachments at 39.1kbs which is way to small for me to post a scanned sheet(s) of paper.

Damn bradshaw gone now to patel.
The umpires have gifted this game to India.
Bradshaw didn't make any contact with the ball, his bat hit his pad.

whgo was the umpire who made bradshaw decision>> i know lara was given out by taufel and he was unlucky.
How similar is this to Pak v Ind at Bangalore when kumble was defying us with overs running out!?

as i said... a victory on the basis of poor umpiring decisions is in my opinion a farce. but come to think of it, the pendulumn has swung both ways. gayle was given not out much earlier in the first session in the over right after sarwan's dismissal.
i think the umpires are secretly toying with lara for his unwelcome outburst! payback is always a b i t c h.

10 overs left!
crowd were unhappy with the decision, few plastic bottles were thrown in the ground but all is under control now
84.2 Patel to Bradshaw, OUT, Munaf Patel gets the breakthrough for India! It was a full-length delivery , just short of driveable length, sucking Bradshaw forward, who is bit late in leaning forward, and pushes at it, inside the line of the ball a bit , the bat hits the pad and it was not sure whether there was an edge enroute to Dhoni! Replays were inconclusive. Atleast the ones shown so far. I am not sure he touched it, Bradshaw is unlucky
IDR Bradshaw c Dhoni b Patel 10 (37b 0x4 0x6) sr: 27.02

very similar indeed, the turning point in that game was single pathan took to assume strike against kaneria who kumble was negotiating rather well. that match however was not so down the wire as this one. india hardly made an effort to chase down the total and pakistan outplayed india in all departments save for when sehwag was at the crease.

how is the light ?
doesnt matter, these are the mandatory overs. i.e. will be bowled unless both teams decide to not persue any further.
