NZ batting first.

JaDed
18th March 2016, 13:36
Smith: "We would have also batted. It looks pretty dry. It is exciting to start our World Cup campaign here today. We have played against them recently and hopefully we can do well today. We have a very strong 15-man squad and have picked a side that will do well against New Zealand. Usman and Watson (will open the batting)."

Pitch report: "Stunning conditions here at Dharamsala. Thankfully we have some sun. The ground has been under covers since yesterday 10:00 local time. This wicket won't spin that much. Captains like to chase when there is rain predicted," assesses Scott Styris

Kiwis imo have messedup the selection,Mitchell McClenaghan is in and Sodhi ,Santer playing Boult and Southee have been useless.

Boult picked up wickets off rubbish deliveries in the series against SL, Pakistan and Aus.

It was clear he's no longer a top 2 or 3 pacer for us in LOI's.

Should had gone for Southee instead of Sodhi. Hell no, Ish is a much better option than Southee in the SC.

Both Southee and Boult went for plenty of runs in the warm ups.

Pak(in current form and Mohali historically) is beating Kiwis for sure and Kiwis might end up losing to Bangla as well so with this loss against Aus and one more against a desi team we actually need to beat all 3 remaining teams to qualify after that and no constraints.

You lost the game because of your bowling. It isn't good enough on flat tracks. You need to resort to defensive bowling to stem the flow of runs on such tracks (like slower balls, wide yorkers, etc.). Bangladesh bowled a lot of bad balls and freebies that day (except Taskin).

You can always bat by hitting boundaries on flat tracks. You don't necessarily have to hit sixes every over. Kohli isn't really a big hitter, but he will murder attacks on flat tracks.

Yeah but I suppose he could afford to do that against us since we lost 3-4 wickets cheaply in the beginning and he wanted to get the seamers to get a couple of cheap overs in. In this match though, it was imperative to keep Australia tied down since they were not completely out of the chase.
