How do you guys think we will do on this wicket ? I think our openers, MoYo and Faisal will struggle with the bounce Harmy will get. With added pressure of a massive total I reckon we will struggle big time if the openers go quickly.

For those who applaud Collingwood, please stop.
For those who think Pak is going to bat today, please stop.
For those who think Afridi is going get a wicket today, please stop.
For those who think cricket umpiring is ever gonna get better and unbiased, please stop.
For those who have a negative attitude, please leave.

He was dropped once before his ton, it was a top knock regardless. I don't think many people make flawless tons these days.
The "dismissal that never was" however was lucky. He's still only had a couple of let offs though, I think you can allow him that.

they gonna make 600 at this rate...damn...our bowling has been terrible ..and sami will never improve..ever!!..
Muyazzim Khan
14th July 2006, 11:39
Considering England A plunered our attack I guess its no surprise we are getting slaughtered. We have a spinner who is fast developing a strike rate of 50 overs per wicket instead of 50 deliveries per wicket.
Its wait and see - there isnt much in the pitch but have we bowled that bad ? I think man for man, Pak batters are better than England - this will be put to the test tomorrow - for the moment Inzi is too negative for my liking but then he can see some ground realities that we cant.
Shayan
14th July 2006, 11:40
we need to trigger a collapse, but none of our bowlers seem good enough!!
zMario
14th July 2006, 11:40
Only Razzaq will be able to trigger the collapse

If England make 500+, it'll be pretty damn hard to lose for them, unless there is a spectacular collapse.

no i don't think we've bowled too badly. If we'd taken our chances, and if the decisions had gone our way, it could've been a different story.
The_Cricket_Devil
14th July 2006, 11:42
Barring miracle we could easily be looking at 600 as our defecit when we come out to bat for our first innings effectively taking away any chance of winning this match for us. I however keep my fingers crossed that we will pull a multan here of sorts
Sid100
14th July 2006, 11:42
overall weve bowled ok, if only we took our chances and if the umpires gave us a few decisions our way we would have bowled england out by now
Easa
14th July 2006, 11:43
Another big shout, not given too high
I think conditions are not such that we will see quick wickets - I believe we had the best of conditions before lunch yesterday - who knows how we would have fared during the same time.
More I look at this - more I am convinced that Pak will bat well atleast well enough in 1 of the innings to ensure a draw
zMario
14th July 2006, 11:43
That was out. Taufel is a dork.
Muhammad
14th July 2006, 11:43
Sami and Gul have bowled badly first up on both days, yesterday we managed to recover though our failure to build on it was more down to the fielding.
Bowling has been reasonable overall taking away the first 30-40 minutes of both days.

at this kind of attack even Hoggard can put up double century like Gillespie done agains Bangladesh ,(I agree that pakistan current attack is slighly better than bangladesh but Hoggard is also better than gillespie so that could be in the card)

hawkeye showing it as hityting to of middle stump...
for those who are slating our attack and calling it toothless...please look at the facts before making such atrocious comments...facts are that we had the chances..cook, while he was on naught for gods sakes and again when hadnt even reach 50 when danny dropped him...then there was the drop off collongwood straight to akmal...(a regulation catch)...add the massive umpire cock ups and england could easily have been all out for under 250...
so please look at the fact before saying how crap our bowling is...

hey guys u have to admit that pakistan bowling is far below than yesterday
sami had a nick not given..razaq had a couple of very decnt lbw shouts not given and so did afridi...all in all they have created chances...
also, yday was overcast and much more favourable for bowling, today it sunny and warm and anyone will tell you that lords is a batting paradise (especially on day 2/3) when the sun is shining...so if bowlers, on naked eye, dont look as penetrive as they did yday then judge them in the context of the game...

Usman Chadda
14th July 2006, 12:04
England dominating the entire session. 426/4 in 120 overs is very good going indeed. Collingwood is on course for a double century while Bell has also looked quite good. Pakistan have been ultra flat today, no bowler has impressed and even though Sami got that wicket of Cook, even he looked a little off colour.
England have put themselves in a position from where they can only put more pressure on us. They will be looking to get to about 500 or more, and then inflict damage on Pakistan's batting line-up in the closing stages of the day
Usman Chadda
14th July 2006, 12:06
Simon Taufel has been pathetic today. 3 decisions that should have gone Pakistan's way were not given. That Collingwood was quite a simple decision for any umpire, still he didnt give it out

No bowler can single handely win you a match, but he has been the center of our attack on many occasions. Such as Karachi v/ Sri Lanka, Jamaica v/ West Indies and Lahore v/ South Africa.
But Amir, there have been many times where I saw Shoaib Akhtar and Waqar Younis, and even Mohammad Sami and Asif at times, bring Pakistan back into the match without any help from anybody. Of course there will be others that take wickets, but its not gonna be important. As I saw, no one right now rates Sami's wicket at all.

Mo Asif on the Sri Lanka tour won the match single handedly. Mushy beat Aussies in Brisbane with 12 wickets in the match and countless others do around the world.
Apart from the 3rd inns of a match where Kaneria averages 23, his 1st,2nd,4th inns averages are 30 + runs per wicket. His fourth inns stats are pathetic, only 14 wickets @33.50. All the pre series hype he gets before every series makes me laugh.

I said that because he throws his wicket away with a silly shot when he seems to be comfortable at the crease. His gets out at bad times for the team and himself such as an over before lunch, tea or close of play.

If you compare him to good bowlers forget legends like Warne or Murali he is steady at best. I find it silly the hype he gets as if he is the ultimate threat Pakistan pose to opponents. He should be recognised for what he is, just steady spinner.
