All ..

I am originally from Houston, TX, US. Luckily my company has me in London for a couple of weeks on a project and I want to come over to Old trafford for Saturday and Sundays play for the 2nd test match. Since many of you are from UK, can you advise on how to obtain tickets (best choice quality and pricewise as I am on a tight budget) and accomodations for 1 and possibly two nights. Any help will be great.

Thanks,
Muddassar

there are some being sold at ebay in UK.
any experience buying them from ebay.

I am having to pay about 40 pounds per ticket for each day. serious rip off?

I also hear that its possible to get the tickets on match day outside the stadium by ticket hawkers. Which do you think will get me a better deal/ticket?

£40 is alot but if you turn up at gate ul be having to pay maybe 5/6 times that price off a tout.

accomadation wise there are plenty of hotels close to ground or in city centre.

Go to the 3rd Test - you'll get tickets easily in time!

Listen gambitt - buy them from the ground - there will be loads of tickets available - i was at lords last wekk and they were selling many at about face value - loads of eng fans wont be going as freddie is not there especially at his home ground plus they probably think they are going to lose.

Go on ebay there are plenty of tickets on there for the Second Test. A lot of them are selling for below face value.

accomodation wise your best bet is to stay in a hotel in salford quays - only a 15 min walk away. i reckon you'll be ok trying to get a ticket outside the ground.

All:

Still looking for decent accomodations for my trip to Manchester. Hotels are all close 70 + pounds per night there.

Any of you know a way to stay in the area for cheaper.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel.php?hotel_id=153

Usually £49 per night....maybe cheaper if you get a 'supersaver' deal.
