am geting sick of all this Chelsea and Barca beef can someone please explain?
Are chelsea gettin disqualified????
Rijkaard wants Mourinho punished
Chelsea hit with charges by Uefa
Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard wants Uefa to punish Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho but does not want the Blues thrown out of the Champions League.
Chelsea could face ejection if Uefa find them guilty of making "unfounded allegations" against Rijkaard and referee Anders Frisk at the Nou Camp.
But Rijkaard said: "They shouldn't be forced out as Mourinho's attitude and that of the club are separate issues.
"My objective is that in the future these types of comments are stopped."
Uefa's Control and Disciplinary Body will hear Chelsea's case on 31 March.
Have Your Say
Chat about Chelsea on 606
The club, Mourinho, assistant manager Steve Clarke and security official Les Miles will be able to request personal hearings and, if they wish, can choose to be represented by lawyers at the disciplinary meeting in Nyon, Switzerland.
The charges are the culmination of an investigation by Uefa into events at the Nou Camp and Chelsea's subsequent allegations.
Following the match, which Barcelona won 2-1, Mourinho verbally attacked referee Anders Frisk and called for Pierluigi Collina to referee the second leg.
Frisk subsequently announced his retirement following death threats to him and his family.
Chelsea face charges from UEFA.
Punishment can be anything from:
A mere reprimand,
A fine,
A touchline ban,
Reversing of result,
Exclusion of the club from the CL

i tink its horrible that frisk retired because of getting death threats. Honestly speaking i think chelsea should be disqualified from champions league or docked points in premiership, simply because if they get fined they dont really care cause a few thousand pund fine is the equivalent to pennys to these guys. The only way they understand is being disqualified.

chelsea shud be kicked out of the champions league and barcelona should given their place!!!and in the league chelsea should be docked 12points for tapping up ashley cole or 12 points shud be given to arsenal!!!!
Liverpool should be given at least 30 of Chelsea's points in the PL due to the alleged tapping-up of Stevie-G.
This should be the right amount on market value.
A Cole = 12-15 million
Stevie = 30+ million
Da Sultan of Multan

nah that's not fair we should het the same amount each 15pts to arsenal and 15pts to liverpool!!!

KICK THEM OUT - for honesty and decency to prevail - kick them out of the CL - only fair - mourinho has committed a form of gross misconduct - now barca dont want to come back in like that - so i guess munchen gety a walkover

Yea i reckon there should be a rematch but even so i do feel sorry for Frisk no-one deserves death threats to their family!!
I seriously hate Jose- he's too arrogant and should be punished!!!!
But what he said he'd win for Chelsea he's gonna win!
Da Sultan of Multan

should be a rematch - like i said - mourinho has committed a form of gross misconduct - he deliberately lied about frisk incident - now uefa should punish chelsea - and after that dodgy incident for last goal - a rematch would be great!!!! make no mistake we will put things right if we got chance and i believe we do

As much as I'd like Chelsea to be kicked out (just to see the look on the Portugeezer's face) it aint gonna happen. It will be a fine (which of course will really hurt Chelsea) or a reprimand.

Jose is the best thing that has happened to this stale, unexciting, predicatble Premiership.
Wher the top 3 are good-but 4th place usually finish 25 points off the pace.
I loved it whenMourinho took on Fergeson last year when he was the Porto boss...and beat ManUre at home!
On form-Mourinho is the BEST club manager in the world.
He won the UEFA Cup 2 years ago with Port, then Porto when the Champions League last yera...who knows what this year?
Our game needs charachters-and as someone who has never liked Chelsea, I have a lot of time for the man.
The man takes the heat off his players-all the focus is on Mourinho before big games-lets the players get on with the game.

Realistically they aint gonna get kicked just probably fined!!
I hate the fact that theyre through to the next round of the champions league only because of poor refereeing!
Barca were robbed!!
It's almost certain Chelsea have already won the prem but thats only cos of Man U- fergie messed up the team ie. wrong formation, wrong players!!
Instead of buying international players Man U need to invest in some Eurpoean ones!!

Umar.
ManUre hadnt won anything for over 30 years, until they won the Premier League in 1992-93. Prior to that, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and Nottingham Forest were the dominant teams in Eng/Europe.
Since 92, Only ManUre and Arsenal have won the title more than once.
But Liverpool still remain the ALL time successful team in terms of title wins/European Cups. A proud history.
Basically ManUre fans are having huge trouble accepting that the new kid on the block (Jose Mourinho-Chelsea) is winning all...and ManuRe have spent nearly £90 million ($160 million) on just 3 players---and none of them have anything with ManUre.
I was lucky enugh to go to a Liverpoolv ManUre game in 2001..which we won 2:1...and the ticket is framed on my wall!!!
My other team, Cardiff City are useless...but as Saj will testify, you go and watch your team, even if your the only guy in the stadium!

Liverpool last won the title in 1990.
They have won FA Cups/Charity Shields/UEFA Cups/League Cups regularly, but the Premiership is the one we all aspire to.
They are a pretty inconsistent team at the moment-not quite pi.$$ poor, but not too far off.
Another eg of the hatred tpwards ManUre...Newcastle (Geordie Ahmads team) signed a player about 7 years ago-Alan Sheare for £15million (a record then), but Newcastle paid way overthe odds because ManUre were also interested in him and there was NO way they were going to let them have him.
Basically, everyone hate ManUre...the team...and its fans (who all live in Londoanm Beijing and Bombay)

Actually, mid 1970s for Liverpool with legendary players like Kevin Keegan, John Toshack. Then 1980s with Kenny Dalgliesh, Ian Rush, Phil Thompson, Mark Lawrenson, Phil Neal, The Kennedys. Finally from 1986 to 1990, with players like John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, John Aldridge.
My 1st Liverpool top was bought in 1983 and my last one was in 1997, when they started being sponsored by Carlsberg, which I refused to wear.

It's not Mourinho's fault that Frisk got death threats.
BUT, if he lied about what happened in Barcalona (as UEFA claim) then that is a disgrace and Chelsea deserve to be punished big time. I don't mind Mourinho whinging too much if what he says is based on FACTS. But if he thinks he can say what he wants just because his team lost, then he's got another thing coming.

Probably the end of Liverpool shirt deal
By Abigail Townsend
27 March 2005
Carlsberg's 12-year sponsorship deal with Liverpool Football Club is on the verge of collapse.
The deal, the longest-running in the Premiership, comes to an end this season. The two parties had been locked in exclusive negotiations to renew the contract, which is thought to be worth around £6m a year.
But sources say the talks have stalled and Liverpool is thought to be close to securing a replacement sponsor.
The stumbling block is believed to have been Liverpool's failure to win major trophies such as the Premiership. Clubs that regularly win high-profile trophies generate more coverage, both at home and aboard, and command much higher prices.
An industry insider said: "It's a difficult club. It's still an expensive brand but they have not won anything." Another added: "I think there are only a few Premiership clubs that can cut it on a global basis, but Liverpool is now on the fringe of that. If you look at what they won in the 20 years before Carlsberg took over as sponsor, you would have thought they would have won a lot more in the subsequent years."
LG is rumoured to be a possible replacement. The South Korean electronics giant is keen to move into football, and has even been considered as a possible sponsor for the new stadium that the club is about to build.
A spokeswoman for Liverpool refused to comment, although she did confirm the club was in talks with "a number of interested parties" about shirt sponsorship. A spokesman for Carlsberg, which has sponsored various European competitions over the last decade, as well as Liverpool, said he could not comment.
An announcement is expected in the next few weeks. Clubs need to secure deals now if they are to produce replica kits in time for the following season.
Others looking at sponsorship include London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Chelsea is in talks with various parties, but speculation is growing that the high price tag, thought to be around £9m a year, is deterring some. The club is also thought to have abandoned a proposal to have unbranded shirts next season to mark its centenary.
Travel group Thomson, meanwhile, has begun talks with Spurs. Its contract ends next season.
