at tea we will be at 450/2 and at the end of the day we will be at 550/2
600/2 at end of the day - we'll go faster as the day goes by.

At 600/2, we can keep going, to 700, and when we get a lead of say 200, declare with 1 1/2 days left, and try to bowl England out

zMario

This has been fantastic stuff from Pakistan. Another example to go on the growing list of 'egg on the face' for our doubters.

We needed to bat out the day and at the moment that is looking increasingly likely. The more runs we score the better the chance we have of squaring the series. Just keep going boys!

these two batsmen have to carry on for atleast another hundred runs for me..although pak is in amazin but after the old trafford massacre u never when will be a collapse on the cards...so i believe they have to carry for another 100 runs just to make sure even if pak collapses hopefully they wont collapse Inshallah but if they do they will still have some score to protect them....
but the way things look at the moment pak would be disappointed if they dont score 550+& kick england out of the game

Gul got a 5 for - and Kaneria got twice the amount of wickets that the English spinners have got in THE LAST 10 YEARS at this ground.

Otherwise, I'd agree with those

90.4 Hoggard to Younis Khan, 3 runs, what a shot! This is carnage now for England. Short and he whips it through leg off the back foot – almost a tennis shot, quite remarkable. Rubbish bowling, mind. :D

90.3 Hoggard to Younis Khan, 2 runs, half volley on off stump, pumped down the ground with typical solidity and firmness but Ian Bell sprints like a gazelle, chasing it down at the long-off boundary to save four
And there's the 350 up for Pakistan. Great effort

90.2 Hoggard to Younis Khan, FOUR, down the leg side. Flicked down to fine leg for four. This really is a run-fest

90.1 Hoggard to Younis Khan, no run, touch of swing away from the batsman who leaves it alone

Billy Doctrove has been handed the ball and he ambles over to his chum, Mr Hair, to have a chat. Hair looks down his nose at it as though it’s a dangerous grenade :))) , hands it cautiously back to Doctrove. Here comes the travelling salesman now, jogging in with a suitcase of gifts for all. All the players are having a cheeky drink, and off goes the cricket ball salesman. Master of polishing, Marcus Trescothick, rubs it furiously on his behind, and Paul Collingwood has a go to. Harmison eyes it with caution before flinging it back to the bowler and we can finally get back to the game
92.3 Hoggard to Mohammad Yousuf, no run, left alone outside off
Hoggard not happy with the shape of his ball
92.2 Hoggard to Mohammad Yousuf, no run, wider of the crease from Hoggard who spears this into the batsman’s off stump forcing a forward defence
92.1 Hoggard to Mohammad Yousuf, no run, right on the money, nicely bowled but easily defended
Just one slip for Hoggard now
End of over 92 (8 runs) - Pakistan 366/2

Mohammad Yousuf 173* (239b 21x4 2x6) SI Mahmood 18-3-83-0
Younis Khan 143* (231b 19x4) MJ Hoggard 24-3-82-1

91.6 Mahmood to Mohammad Yousuf, 1 run, worked to leg
91.5 Mahmood to Younis Khan, 1 run, breaking news: a defensive shot. But still they can’t prevent the run
91.4 Mahmood to Younis Khan, no run
91.3 Mahmood to Younis Khan, FOUR, struggling to describe these shots. Rather like a short-arm pull, but played with a straighter bat, and timed quite perfectly. He is looking unstoppable
That's a new record for any Pakistan wicket against England. The previous was held by Javed Miandad and Salim Malik, who made 322 at Edgbaston in 1992 :D :14: :108: :105: :120:
