Article is a month and a half old but I doubt the trend has changed.

Why does Imran Khan not prefer heading to the National Assembly as he should, being an elected representative?

Because he's too busy in dharnas, creating anarchy in the country and hating/criticizing over progress made by PML-N ( Take the recent Phatechar row for example - where Imran Khan was unhappy with successful hosting of the Finals under the supervision of his opponents)

Progress? Economy is going down the absolute drain, load-shedding is still there. Progress. Only progress is they've been looting more money

So IK is a terrible person but why has the PM missed 84% of the sessions? Why does he not hold cabinet meetings or never hold press conferences? When was the last time you heard him answer any questions from anyone? What is he scared off, surely it cant be Panama, afterall he had all the paperwork.

like i said, no one is bothered about these sessions. This is the place where real issues are discussed.

problem is that the jahil dukaan daar politicians would rather make roads and win votes that way then discuss domestic and foreign policies

this is where PPP was great at.

It only Zardari didn't existed......

You guys need to head over to Islamabad and see the lodges these guys get. The parliamentarian lodges where these guys live after winning is right next to the national assembly. Yet no one bothers to go.

I think they were also about to create an underground passage to make them attend but the idea was abolished as then these guys wouldn't had to face media

The reason no one goes is simple, parliament is irrelevant. Decisions are made by the Sharif family and their coterie of crooks,You had the bizzare situation where the SC had to order cabinet meetings. BTW being one of the resident Nooras on the forum, maybe you can explain why NS does not hold any press conferences and if has in the last year can you give me a source.

So, in a thread where the topic of discussion is that NS attended 61 session as compared to IK's 22, the junoonis are still crying why NS doesn't attend more. Niceeeeee. Masters of deflection.

My friend your criticism was fair and on this issue anyone criticising IK and others is right but my question was that as a Noora, how do you rationalise that PM of country does answer any questions from anybody for over a year what's he afraid of?

So IK is wrong on this issue but NS has missed 84% of the sessions as the PM and remember IK is not the official leader of the opposition. But maybe you can explain why NS has not any questions either in parliament or in a press conference for more than a year. What's he scared off? Or you going to get off the thread as quickly as our the major.

This is poor and IK needs to improve his attendance

however i am not sure in these %age figures whether the dharna period is included because if it is I would remove that

The Dharna was in 2014 wasn't it? Lot of water under the bridge since then.

So 84% missed as a PM is something to be proud of and more importantly when does he answer any questions as the PM?

PTI wanted "leader of the opposition" role.
IK is a leader so he is not interested in attending such sessions.

NS attendance is better as he had to attend the sessions during PTI's dharna (when PPPP saved PMLN govt) = he had to attend the session to defend his money trail..

TBH, no one is really interested in democracy or democratic process.
Nation's fate is decided at Raiwand/Bilwal house/GHQ/Bani-Gala

Imran Khan should have attended all the NA Sessions Especially Post 2014 Dharna.

A mistake.

He is doing much more outside of NA where speaker is partial and won't even allow to speak some opposition members. Also all he is doing is to protect corrupt PM and send references to ECP/SC against those who question PM's corruption. In short when the moderator of assembly is not fair then what do you expect from such gathering? NA is mostly only used to trigger fights and war of slurs. It's waste of time to go to NA composed mostly of corrupts and election riggers.

Yes IK should have more attendance.

Still done more for PK outside of Parlaiment than NS has done by attending it.

A certain minimum percentage should be set otherwise the parliamentarian should be fined or not allowed to run for election the next time.

There should also be mandatory questions/answers day with the PM once a month atleast.

Do you think that NS will ever answer a single question on the Panama scandal? The guy has the intellect of a lettuce leaf.

Time is given based on your representation in NA and if I recall IK has always been given time even though he is not leader of opposition.

by attending NA, IK can put pressure on NS to attend and answer questions.

We have non functional democracy and reason why it's not fully functional, cause political do not follow political process.

I have always said this is a very valid criticism and Imran Khan's response has not convinced me to date. He raises valid points in regards to meaningless debate and incompetent speaker but he MUST attend regardless. His presence makes the parliament much more credible, Nawaz Sharif can be excused for his lack of attendance to some extent but Imran Khan must attend more often.
